The following two pictures illustrate an odd behavior of ARS in regards to slots, particularly those in the Stewart's Lane area. In the first picture the timetable of 0O79 indicates that the trains entry point should be 584. The train is ARS and is traveling through sub-areas that are active. As the train approached VS571 no slot had been requested, in order to avoid a delay I manually requested the slot, and it was given just as the train reached the reversing point. In the second picture, rather than accepting the available route to 584 ARS requested a slot at 586 which was immediately given and the train routed to that siding. Of course there should be little difference unless the train had to hypothetically access a track that was not reachable from 586, but it is odd that ARS wouldn't take the route that was correct and available. I'm guessing that the ARS, didn't know you intensions. It saw that 584 was already allocated so requested the second best, 586. Quite smart programming. Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but I am just starting to learn Victoria SE so am reading the manual and every forum item. Log in to reply |
