Would it be possible to add a tick box to the 'Answer Call' dialogue box, allowing the signaller to request the driver to ring immediately after arriving at the next red signal? The advantage of a tick box is that the response can be added to the other responses available. For example, if a TC fails an overlap, the driver can be authorised to pass the signal at danger and to ring in immediately at the next signal. This would save the usual two minute wait before the driver rings in at the next signal, and would be closer to what would happen in real life. Any thoughts? I, for one, like this idea.

This is, in fact standard practise in some areas, as sometimes a 'zero minutes' board can be displayed at a signal, this tells the driver to call in immediately after stopping. I have always thought the zero minutes option was a good idea so I support this idea too. DSW Log in to reply |
