Where is Willesden Former WN34? 13/08/2014 at 11:37 #63766

Hello All,

I'm kind of stuck on a TT I'm making from the NR WTT. 4L23 from Hams Hall has a crew change at location Willesden Former Sig WN34. It's listed above Sudbury Jn so I assume it's just before it, maybe Signal 936? I checked the default TT, and 4L23 (with different timings mind) uses the 'RP' point, which is listed after Sudbury Jn. Is this actually the Former WN34 timing point?

Any help appreciated!

James.

**EDIT** I guess it could be the RP, a quick test I thought of shows that putting Sudbury Jn before or after the RP location makes no difference it seems, the validation accepts it either case

WN34 appears in the diagram linked to from this post (direct link to diagram) and its location indeed seems to correspond with that of the RP.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

WN34 = WM936
WN31 = WM829/WM931

However, as I noted somewhere (and somebody further clarified the point), trains do not actually relieve there, despite what the timetable says. That's why the sim has a separate RP location which is where the majority of relieving actually took place.

Ahh I see, I thought it might have been 936. I've set it to the RP point for realism, thanks for that Geoff

Further to the above, WM788 was WN33 and WN34 (Up LL Goods) and WN35 (Up Slow) were in the middle of where Sudbury Junction is now, the disused gantry is still in place some 14 years after it ceased to be used. WM936 was WN29 and WM829 was WN31. The actual RP was then slightly north of WM788 at the former WN34, though plenty of relieving was done at WN35, no point delaying trains!

Well on the point of junctions the current Sudbury Junction was all new and the connections at Wembley Central was Sudbury Junction and the junction just south of the current Sudbury Junction was Brent Junction, well it is just over the River Brent.
