Now Wembley Sub has been updated with the Croxley Branch, I can look to complete a 1980 chainable TT (Complete with Bakerloo trains to Watford!) with my Euston TT. This does require quite a few moves to/from Croxley Depot. I'm interested on opinion as to whether Cardiff road is a Suitable proxy for it, given its in roughly the right location.

How long much standage is there for trains sat at the stop board, to avoid fouling the main line? the last thing you want is a peak service stalled by a 501 hanging over High St. Jct.

I don't have a lot of good notes about the old arrangements, but it appears that the depot entrance was about 18 chains closer to Croxley than the points into Cardiff Road, which would put it just behind signal 73 on track circuit KD. The one source I've checked so far says it was on the opposite side of the track (the down side) and that trains had to run into a headshunt and then reverse into the depot.

(The depot was closed before the resignalling to put it under the control of the single Suburban panel and then workstation.)

The stop board is 349 metres from the boundary of KE and HP track circuits. Don't forget to allow space for defensive driving (20 metres, IIRC).
