I notice Mr. Young has transferred to the Southern Region! What will Worksop do without him?

It will all be fine until worksop is able to chain to sailsbury. Now what are we missing for that link to happen

Now what are we missing for that link to happen ;) Actually, just updates to Sheffield, Trent, and Gloucester; Salisbury chains to Westbury which via Bristol or SwinDid or both connects to Gloucester which with a refresh will chain to Saltley then through to Derby. Then with updated Trent and Sheffield sims that chain to each other you are actually through to Worksop. (via SwinDid, a potential Oxford sim then Marylebone and Leamington is another way to Saltley which doesn't involve Gloucester that is also possible.) Log in to reply |

" said:" said:You don't even need Sheffield, take the Chellaston road at Stenson Jn, then pick your route from the Trent Jn complex to Mansfield, where Worksop takes over. Update to Worksop would probably be required to chain to an updated Trent. It will all be fine until Worksop is able to chain to Salisbury. Forgot about stenson junction somehow and thought you'd have to go by clay cross, but yes you're completely correct. so It's only 2 updates (not counting worksop) and 0 new sims; suprisngly few sims to connect such distant parts of the country.

running thr 1988 tt. 5O01 shows as next due from Gillingham but it picks up an ECS shunt at Salisbury rather than the correct movement. not a Major issue and I suspect more core code related than sim related. I don't quite understand the need for a replacement switch for GM28 either. surely placing the acceptance switch to normal when no train is accepted or in section achieves the same result. I'm also having trouble getting 7Z07 into West C.S. setting the route from 240 to 238 in the usual fashion instead deselects 240 as the entrance and replaces it with 238. no route can be set. I'll see if it needs refining; 2) GM28 replacement switch is there as it's on real life panel, belt and braces I guess; 3) It's an era issue, fixed but needs an update issued. Jc92 beat me too it with 7Z07 !. However on the same timetable..... The seed loco 0A00 is duly routed towards East Yard once shunter release has been obtained.I've noticed that the seed train 0A00 sits between sigs 215 & 212 although not visible (F2 shows it as terminated no more trips). When 0Y31 gets sent to East Yard via the through siding, it stops, calls that its waiting at sig 223. If you reverse the loco, the F2 screen then tells you that there is a train in front (0A00). Should 0A00 actually exit the sim ? It seems to me it should ,as this "blocks" 0Y31 movement to the head shunt. I ended up removing 0A00 and again, when 0Y31 reached the East Yard it just terminated but didn't exit. Log in to reply |

I just routed pilot engine SBPY out of the East Yard and onto the main line. I notice that slots A and B did not clear as the train passed signals 215 and 223, and remain lit. Is this normal and, if so, is it possible to leave the slots permanently on and shunt trains back and forth? Or will that cause issues? Should the slots be cancelling themselves?

The Shunter Releases are as follows:- SR A - SY224 to SY216 (Up); SR B - any route to SY212 (Up); SR C - any route to SY215 (Dn). I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. Last edited: 09/05/2015 at 21:55 by AndyG Log in to reply |

" said:" said:If you're coming out of East Yard and onto the main line you don't need release A or B as they are for movements in the other direction. So those releases will stay lit until a train passes the right way (Up direction for A and B ).The Shunter Releases are as follows:-That doesn't answer any of my questions ... I don't think its possible for the releases to be permanently given, so you need to ask for them each time. Kev Last edited: 10/05/2015 at 08:28 by KymriskaDraken Log in to reply |

Odd question which I hope isn't me being silly. I have 1L42 and 1L46 sharing platform 6 at Salisbury as seen by my screenshot: Now platform 6 should be 180m long and the total length of the two trains currently sat in there are 46+69= 115m Now they are showing as not fitting and I have the track circuit beyond SY44 as occupied. I tried to shunt them both down to the stops tight against each other but they still don't fit. Am I going mad or is this a bug? Francis Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

I seem to recall I had this issue, I think the stopping position of one of the trains was wrong. I ended up managing it by abandoning both timetables before shuting.

same problem in platform 2 as well which is much longer. Same length trains trying to share the platform. tried removing timetables and shunting galore and cannot get them to fit without TC spilling out past the starting signals
