Simsig allows certain trains (class 3 and onward) to potentially depart before time. certain trains (class 3, 4 and 6 Mail and Parcels for instance) would not do this. it can currently be partially avoided by adding dwell times or rules, but if the train runs late, the Dwell time can cause problems. I would like to suggest either the addition of a rule "Train X must depart on time from location Y" or alternatively a tickbox on the location window "prevent early departure" to countermand this. I imagine this could be useful for certain freights with long dwell times aswell. Equally a rule or tickbox could be added for trains to always depart early which could be used for instance at looping locations where a train has no reason to stop for a period of time if given a clear road. A train will then depart immediately as soon as it gets the road rather than the signaller worrying that it may or may not leave early or waiting for a phone call. thoughts "We don't stop camborne wednesdays" Log in to reply The following user said thank you: jetblast787 |

JohnG managed to force some freight to wait time by using the rule 'must not depart till xxx minutes after 2Nxx enters', where 2Nxx is a seed train, so the departure is xxx minutes after midnight.

" said:JohnG managed to force some freight to wait time by using the rule 'must not depart till xxx minutes after 2Nxx enters', where 2Nxx is a seed train, so the departure is xxx minutes after midnight. As a cautionary note, at the moment that only works if a TD is used to refer back to the seed train. If the seed train has a UID and that is used in the "must not depart" rule, my experience to date is that the rule is ignored. It has been raised on the bug board so it is hopefully only a temporary proviso. Joe's (jc92) suggestion(s) for new rules certainly get my vote. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

" said:And as an extra, Train X will wait time at Y.You can use "Must not depart Z until X minutes after Y arrives at Z", simply selecting the same train for both. (Perhaps you already know that, and are asking for a simpler implementation) Edit: I've realised you actually mean "Train X must depart Y on time", rather than "Train X must wait N minutes at Y". Whoops! Last edited: 16/05/2015 at 13:10 by Danny252 Log in to reply |
