Afternoon all,

I have just been looking in the Network Rail WTT for information on these trains but I cannot find them.

If things are correct they should be in the Sunday TT of booklet YA but all I can find is passenger trains and indeed the index document says that the info includes " contains passenger and parcels train services, together with associated stock and any light engine movements" but all I can find are passenger trains which is odd.

Does anyone know the train IDs for:
- http://www.opentraintimes.com/schedule/H16425/2015-02-01

I guess both trains are serving what I have marked on SimSig (a TT for which is why I need the information). In addition, RTT says that the above train is pathed as a "Diesel locomotive, trailing load 2000 tonnes" while the second one is a "Diesel locomotive, trailing load 600 tonnes".

if anyone has any info on:
- the reporting codes
- how I should set this up (in terms of
a) Accel / Braking Rate
b) Length
c) Maximum Speed (provided by RTT)

then I would be grateful to receive it.

One last point regarding the latter train. The WTT for the Mountsorrell train refers to "Welwyn G.C. F.D" which is, I presume, a freight depot. Seeing as I don't know the area at all, where would this be located? ATM I can only think to use the up sidings at Welwyn GC as no "FD" is marked.

Cheers,
Dave

The links are duds?

Mountsorrel is a stone terminal, so I assume these are freight services, in which case you wont find them in YA which is a passenger WTT. There is a seperate section for freight.

Additionally, you can't really rely on the WTT for freight services. Whilst freightliner/intermodal services tend to run to the WTT, any thing else can either run to the WTT, run to modified timings, or not run at all (sometimes staying in the WTT for years after a train has stopped running) - and then there's all the freight that doesn't appear in the WTT at all!

Got that. Thanks.

What type of wagons are these? In this photo, which shows a 6M33 working.....

https://www.flickr.com/photos/jameswelham/8628288616/in/photostream/

..... and those wagons look the same type as seen here.....

https://www.flickr.com/photos/21611052@N02/15037182634

Are those the same type as the wagons shown in the first photo? In the first photo I make 41 wagons which, i think, makes the whole train 366.7m long if I am right (2x ECS Class 66 @ 21m each + 41x PGA wagons @ 7.92m each = 42m + 324.72m = 366.72m) and that could easily be done as a reverse at Langley Junction if I have things right.

But are those wagons MTA Open Ballast or something else? I am using the length calculator that can be downloaded here.....

..... but I am none the wiser. Clarification welcome.

Dave

Dave you may also get an idea from looking at previous TT's for lengths, settings etc

Aye thanks. I already wrote those in by using OTT. Just wasn't sure what lengths but I have set them up as follows:

6H67: 2x Class 66 @ 21m + 41x PGA Balast Wagons @ 7.92m = 42m + 324.72m = 366.72m
so I have set up 6H67 as 367m

6M33: 1x Class 66 @ 21m + 41x PGA Balast Wagons @ 7.92m = 21m + 324.72m = 345.72m
so I have set up 6M33 as 346m

I have, however, seen it suggested that 6H67 would be unlikely to run with 2x Class 66 as the reverse move at Langley Junction to get 6H67 into the stone terminal would simply be a case of the Class 66 pushing the train in. If I shortened the train to be 1x 66 instead of 2 when would SimSig still take it?

According to the freight trains loads book the length limit for trains to Langley Junction or Mountsorrel is 60SLUs in both directions. That's 384m in total incl. the loco. So the lengths you have set for both trains are OK.

6H67 and 6M33 did run top & tailed at times because engineering work required it, but normally only 1 66 is used.

The other item to note is that the train is a self-discharge train, and so the consist includes the unloading wagon, which from memory is a KJA (similar to a KFA frame).

Looking at your photos, you have 20 of the 4 wheel hoppers (PHA), then the unloader (KJA), then another 20 4 wheel hoppers (PHA).

God bless, Daniel Wilson
