Hello Guys!

A small portion of you SimSig fans may know me. But if you don't. I am TSGUY0100 AKA (THEBVE2010).

I started playing SimSig in 2013, after it was recommended to me by a driver. I found it very fun and interesting. But a few months later, the PC i was playing it on packed up.

I only started playing it again this week and I am still trying to remember all the essentials of the game.

I have also recently started playing on multiplayer and I (like every other human being), am also taking a while to get used to that as well.

I do understand that some people take their sessions seriously, but mistakes are a part of learning, so if I appear on any of your hosts, then please try to put up with my errors.

I am quite familiar with a few people on SimSig now and not in a good way. I have been kicked off of sessions and rejected several times for messing up someone's host and I do enjoy simulating with other people rather than in offline mode.

So I am just asking you not to see me as a threat to your simulations, just a new person who is getting to grips with things.

I know that the people I simulate with are friendly and fuss free most of the time and I would hate to be rejected from servers because I am seen as "the guy who messes up things".

So please. I promise you, I will get used to SimSig eventually, but until I do, could you please allow me onto your multiplayer sims so I can learn from my mistakes.....After all, you guys were new once.

Thanks For Reading

TSG, you most welcome to join in when I host and have a good time.. We all make mistakes and learn from them.. Yesterday (09/09/2015) I and others gave you a little helping hand on Saltley North Panel.. You did very well to keep trains moving after that little traffic queue at North Jn... I shall see you around again next time I host. Remember let others help you and if any problems arise then ask other members who are willing to help you.

Welcome back, TSG. You are most welcome to join any multiplayer session that I run, although they don't happen as often as they used to! Some hosts have a more "hands-on" approach than others. I adopt a "hands-off" approach, allowing the players to run their own panels which they do very well. And I agree with you that SimSig is far more enjoyable in an online multiplayer session. In fact, I would encourage anyone to join a multiplayer session, especially if you haven't tried one before. Do not be put off by a single bad experience. There are many good hosts out there.

I would suggest just chilling out a bit. You're not an idiot, it'll come to you pretty shortly, but you in danger of coming across like a five year old trying to ride a bike before he can run... before he can walk... while screaming "look at me mummy"... "no hands!"... and some of the adults have a migraine. I do sympathize with you because I have latent tendencies towards being a bit of an attention whore myself but recognise that the chat has impact on everyone else, some of it quite subtle, e.g. frequent requests for help have the following effects:

  • Makes a person want to help, which tires them out

  • May make them resentful if the question is easily answered in the manual due to said effort

  • Distracts from the game leading to knock on impact

  • Involves different parts of brain to those used in signalling, taking signaller out of "the zone"

  • Immersion is lost

And most people are in the games basically to set routes, you know? They don't want that.

Just go with the flow a bit more and you'll fine.

Also - there's nothing wrong with judging, so long as it's reserved

No doubt, but the effect was that you received it, and it was certainly not all positive.

Remember that your intent cannot be known others, it can only be inferred. Only your actions are known.

I sincerely believe that the best advice I can give you is "chill". Chemically if necessary, but swimming is in an under-rated activity too for example.
