Llangollen Railway & 6880 Betton Grange Society Steel, Steam & Stars IV, 6th March 2015

Featuring an all star line up of 8 locomotives:

SR West Country 34092 "City of Wells"
GWR 2251 Class 3205
BR 9F 92212
GWR 4200 Class 4270
GWR 1400 Class 1450
LMS 5MT 45231 "The Sherwood Forester" (Not Steaming today)
GWR 2884 Class 3802
GWR 5101 Class 5199

Full Friday 6th Timetable with timings taken from the Sovenir Programme

ECS and Light Engine movements taken as educated guesses

Take Care in the order and formation of trains, especially double headers and top and tailed workings

The analysis brings up errors, although I have been able to run the timetable in its entirety. Any issues and I will fix
Also if anyone is able to help with platforming and ECS/LE moves then an update could be on the cards
It is intended that the remaining 5 days will also be timetabled

Thank You

I have found two issues:

- 0L04-1 is scheduled to join 1C01 (should be 1C01-1)
- 1C01-1 won't fit into platform at Glyndyfrdwy; this could be a bug in sim because the train is 129m long and the platform is 140m (according to manual)

The latter might be fixed by selecting a specific stopping position (e.g. Far Exact).

Hi miki

Thank you very much, I have changed the activity for 0L04-1, and set 1C01-1 to Near End (0) at Glyndyfrdwy

Thanks Again

This and any other updates will be uploaded as part of a pack for the event

1C01-1 will need a far end exact, or a far end plus a few I'd imagine. In reality they'd draw the lead loco past GY5 if it was off.

With 1C01-1 a Near End (+0) has the same effect, as this causes the rear of the train to stop parallel to the Llan end of the platform

Thanks

I actually tried FX for 1C01-1, but it didn't work.

Having played more, I've noticed a similar problem at Carrog. Initially everything is fine, but when 1C01-3 and 0L04-2 join, the latter won't fit. Image attached.

EDIT: After the trains have joined, the Corwen end TC suddenly clears...

Sounds like a situation I've had in reality several times at Bridgnorth on the SVR!

It seems that none of trains longer than 120m will fit into platform at Glyn. However, this only applies to Down trains.

I've downloaded this timetable but I can't seem to get it to load. I get "Error loading timetable information" every time. Any help? I've managed with the other timetables but this one has me stumped. :(

EDIT - Done it! I didn't think I'd downloaded the sim that long ago but it must have been before it went onto the SimSig loader! Now to fight with the light loco's!!

Hey guys,
Pretty new to Sim sig after playing a couple simulations on PC-Rail. Apologies for reviving an old thread, but thought it may have been better than creating a new one for an existing bug.
Great community base it would seem. downloaded Llangollen and just running the Steel and steam gala timetable for the 6th.

I was wondering had a fix been found for 1C01-1? I can't seem to get the train to proceed past the signal protecting the up + down sidings (Not sure how to view signal names). To get the train enter Platform 1, I'd love to know a way around this as I'd like to be able to run the timetable through it's entirety.

Thanks in advance

To answer part of your question, you can view signal numbers by disabling 'right click cancels route' in Options.

When this is disabled, right-clicking on a signal in your area will display a menu with the signal number, along with a host of options such as cancelling the route, operating the train describer and applying/removing reminders.

I assume you mean "New Inn Sidings" at Glyndyfrdwy. I suspect you haven't got the latest version of Llangollen. Please press Check for updates in the loader and download the latest version. Then restart the game, it should solve the problem.

Morning,

EDIT: Hey guys, I had run the update previously, but seems didn't do properly. It is now showing at V4 have attempted to re-run the sim. It works fine now and clears. Slight question about 1C01, it detatches a rear engine in Glyn. This seems to be blocking the level crossing for quite a while, and so shows the error of excessive wait for road users. Is this correct, or have I made a mistake somewhere?

Thanks for the help!

Hi GWR3850

I am aware that the initial release of this timetable has a couple issues with incorrect positioning at the platform, this has been corrected and an updated version, along with the remaining timetables from the event, will be uploaded shortly. In the mean time if you change the positioning at Glyndyfrdwy for 1C01-1 to "Near End" this will fix the issue with the loco overhanging the crossing, note that you will also need to clear the platform starter and allow the front of this train to pass this signal, it will continue as normal after the divide.

I hope you are enjoying the timetable.
Thanks

Hey All,
Thanks all to the help, I am getting hang of this now and the timetable. It is a good one indeed, keeps you on your toes for sure!

Being a kettle fan, it's nice to have a preserved simulation.

Looking forward to the other releases

Many thanks
