Hi all, A slightly different topic to the norm. I'm looking for a new email host and hope that some of you can give me some pointers to potential candidates. I've been with the same email host for many years but two take overs, a move from server based to webmail with filters that don't work and a service that often isn't running has caused me look around. I have owned and used the same domain for about 15 years and so want to move this over. I use throw away email addresses e.g. anything@domain.co.uk. This allows me to put a meaningful word in place of the "anything" and so tells me where any spam I get originated from. This is an important feature I want to retain. Over time, some of the "anything" addresses have been used by others for somewhat less than legal means and the ability to filter out/auto-delete the "anything" addresses is a must. I don't need a large mailbox. The only time my mailbox carries anything other than a standard email is when I send work files home (occasional spreadsheets up to 1mb, 1 maybe every 3-4 weeks) to work on and mail back. I'm more than happy to pay to get a good service that has the above requirements. I'd be grateful for any suggestions or pointers that anyone has. Thanks Glyn Log in to reply |

I know the GoogleMail (web-based, but can be used with an Email programme like MS Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird) has a clever option regarding personal email domains. For example: If your emails from "SimSig@domain.co.uk" get sent to a GoogleMail account, then you can set up that account to also send emails as that email account. I have my own domain name, and get everything sent to my GoogleMail account, and can also send emails as any of the following: Simsig@... Amazon@... Facebook@... etc The major pain is that it won't send or receive any *.exe files! Log in to reply |

I use a company called EcwHost. I pay £20.40 a year for my hosting and £9.99 every 2 years for my domain. I've never had any trouble with them and if anything goes wrong they are very quick to fix it. I'd highly recommend them. Jed. Log in to reply |
