Could it be that the length of Malcom's siding is set a bit too short in 2015 mode?
I've just had 4R75 with a length of 400 m entering it, and at one moment, its rear was still occupying the overlap of GPE143 and in the next moment, it suddenly disappeared. So if I'm not mistaken, it looks like it's fallen off the sim after reaching the end of the simulated siding while a part of the train was still outside of it and visible on the track circuits.
The quality of the aerial imagery in that area is a bit hit and miss, but it seems that approximately 700 to 750 m should be available within the siding.

It is timetabled to fall off the sim!

I cannot see any problem with the train entering the siding. Once in the siding and clear of the main line, F2 show it still doing 15 mph when it does falls off the sim.

I think Jan's point is that the train is falling off of the sim before all 400m of it has entered the siding.

Exactly. I've timed it and trains fall of approximately 30 seconds after occupying T262, i.e. the last track circuit before the siding. At 15 mph, that corresponds to a siding length of 200 m.

I've always made sidings (that are exit points) 100m long and it's only recently that this problem has been brought to my attention. I have queried it am told that the code is years old. I've not looked at older sims (e.g. the McSim.exe suite). Basically it falls off when the front of the train arrives at the exit point. I've seen reference to it not happening if the exit time is set as passing but I've not tested that myself.

I know that if you send a non-timetabled train into the siding it falls off when the rear reaches the exit point.

As headshot119 said, the problem is not that the trains are falling of the sim per se, it's that they fall of while part of the train is still visible to the outside world.
It's not a grave problem admittedly, but I happened to notice it because I was waiting for 4R75 to clear the main line as I had passenger trains in both directions following closely.

Peter is correct. I've seen exactly the same issue. This was pointed out to me by one of my testers on my update to South Humberside. As far as I can tell it's the same across all sims....even non-loader ones! The set of circumstances is this...
1) A TT location is set as an exit point.
2) The non-visible TC that marks the location is x metres long.
3) A train is sent into the exit location that is longer than x meters.

What happens is determined entirely by what the trains TT is set to do once it reaches the exit location.....

IF the TT is set to "PASS" the exit point, the train will correctly run till the back of the train reaches the far end of the hidden TC, whereupon the sim will remove the train from the sim and all is well.

However, if the TT is set to "STOP" at the exit point, the train will run up to the end of the hidden TC (the default spot for a location) and stop. At that point, the train, as it's longer than the hidden TC, will overhang into the visible TC's in the sim. As it's an exit location as soon as the train stops, the sim removes it. It thus looks like the train hasn't run to the end of the siding.

I have exit locations TC's set at 300m but things get weird when you try and send a train that's, say, 450m long to an exit location. That's 150m sticking out IF the exit location in the TT is set as a "Stop". In some cases, this means that not just one but multiple TC's are still occupied when the train is removed which looks really wrong!

Unless the core code were to change to alter how trains deal with exiting the sim, there are two solutions...
1) The developer can make each exit point long enough to accommodate the longest train. However, this may then result in other complications such as timing problems where trains are constantly late arriving at that location or the location may not be able to handle trains in as quick a succession as the real location can.

2) Make sure that in the TT when trains head for a location that is an exit from the sim, they are always marked to "pass" (even if the location is in reality a dead end).

Aha! I was wondering why trains were entering the Down Carriage Sheds at warp speed on Euston PSB.
