I don't consider myself to be a computer wizz nor do i consider myself to be thick! However PLEASE PLEASE can someone help me to chain a simulation. I have tried the WIKI pages and I just cant seem to get it right. I've purchased Rugby and dying to give this chain a go. Any help is much appreciated and thanks in anticipation of helping a frustrated user. Log in to reply |

Start both simulations (let's call them A and B ) as a server. Use Port 50505 for simulation A, and 50507 for simulation B. Pause both of them as soon as they start. Then, on simulation B, go to the 'Multiplayer' menu (in the window with the clock in), and select 'Connect to External Signalbox'. Select Simulation A (whatever that is) from the list of boxes, and enter the i.p. address 127.0.0.1, and Port number 50505. Click 'Connect'. When you do this, a box will open in Simulation A with a connection request- click to accept it, and the simulations will be chained together. They'll behave the same as they normally do, except pausing and changing clock speed can only be done from Simulation A.

And ensure that 'Synchronize Time' has been ticked.

" said:the way you have explained how to do a simple chain. is it the same if you want to host a sessionThis is all explained on the Wiki, but basically when you get to the last screen when starting a simulation, tick the 'Run as a server' box, select a port and enter your initials.
