Stopping Point Issues ? 22/06/2014 at 07:58 #61936

I have previously reported issues with trains overhanging the points at Letchworth Rev Sdg in the 1985 TT since switching to the excellent loader version of Kings Cross sim. Clive suggested that the sim has some code to ensure trains stop at the correct point but I still think trains are pulling up short of the blocks in the loader version which wasn't happening in the old exe version.

Some people suggested adjusting the stopping position in the TT but ever since then my attention has been diverted by the Vic C and Vic E sims so I've never tried to see if this solves the issue.

Well, just returned to playing on KX with possibly my most favourite TT - 1977. Have now started to notice the same issue with overhangs - this time at Bowes Park Rev Sdg. When a shunter backs onto a train in the Rev Sdg it fouls the Dn Hertford. Once joined, the whole consist can be shunted forward.

Suspect I'm going to get the same comments about adjusting the stopping point. Does this suggest some sort of incompatibility (so far as stopping positions are concerned) when running TT's written for the old exe version on the new loader version ?

I have sort of started to fiddle with my 1977 timetable to iron out some of these issues.

You need to check the lengths of the trains mate, the track circuit of Bowes Pk Rev Sdgs only fit a maximum of 299 meters, if your train has more than that on F2, you will lock the Down.

And Peter, that's a very nice Timetable.

Hi Peter, completely agree that 1977 is an excellent timetable and for those of us of a certain age..... How far did you get with your plan to fix the length issues identified earlier - just want to set my expectations for the next few days!

Best wishes,

Mike
