Evening gents. I'm testing a timetable for SwinDid, and seem to have hit a snag... The problem? Train 1M79 is booked to reverse at Foxhall Junction (see attached screenshot from 'freightlocate'), we originally inputted 1M79 as reversing at sim location Foxhall Junction as seen in the real life data but this results in the train stopping short at signal 933. ARS also then sets a route from signal 940 to 2201. I then altered the schedule so the train reverses at Milton Junction (see the other screenshot), ARS then routes the train to signal 951 without issue, but come departure time the ARS does nothing, despite the train showing as awaiting RA. If it's routed manually from 940 to 2201 then it works fine. Anyone know if this is a bug or some kind of pathing issue on my part? There is no 'requires manual route' message. Using sim version 4.3 build 7, loader version 4.5.8. Thanks in advance. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Location "Foxhall Jn Sig SB940" should do the trick. Alternatively you could use "Foxhall Jn Sig SB6420", but I doubt that a passenger train would reverse at a shunt signal.

Good shout, but now the sim is complaining about no valid path between Didcot and SB940. Same if Foxhall Junction is inserted. Is there a location I'm overlooking here?

Doesn't work with Didcot West End either. I could get a path to validate for Milton Jn-SB940, but that's just bringing us back to the original problem. I'm therefore a little lost as to what the SB940 location was intended to be used for, given that it can only be used for Up trains, and is therefore more or less identical to having a stop specified at Foxhall Jn... SB6420 doesn't help either, as whilst you can get to it, I then can't find any valid path to leave towards Oxford (Foxhall Jn, Didcot WC Jn, Didcot N Jn). Log in to reply |

Writing the data is relatively straight forward but unravelling the interactions with other path coding will take a bit of time, I'll add it to the to-do list. Thanks for the help. Looks like routing manually from 940 to 2201 is the way forward for now then.

If it makes you feel any better, in real life (if I remember correctly) the train is always knocked out of ARS when you route it from Platform 3 onto the Up/Down Relief, even though that's it's booked route... I certainly remember it doing that anyway. If this is a modern day (2915/2016) timetable, presumably you have the same issue with 3A05 in the morning? As that is also booked to reverse at Foxhall (but never does). BoxBoyKit Didcot/Swindon Signalman Log in to reply |

Reversing at Milton Jn at least validates (Didcot Pway-Milton Jn-Didcot N Jn-Kennigton Jn), but not tried running it yet. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. Log in to reply |

Update, works OK, save for having to manually set the first route from signal 940 the ARS works too. Post has attachments. I can see why it works; but it shouldn't: Milton Jn is miscoded. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |
