A couple of weeks ago I had no option but to reinstall Windows 10 so needed to re-license my Sim Sig products which was duly done. Since then I have had the need to use Malwarebytes to clean my PC as I was still having problems with my service provider (Long Story) .... however after re-booting & loading a saved York sim I was confronted with the demo mode scenario & on checking license Manager found all my approved licenses had vanished. I know Malwarebytes removed 38 items but never checked them so assume this programme removed them. So beware anyone thinking of using this freeware .... I have decided to wait until I purchase Tyneside before requesting my licenses again, giving time to prove my PC is now stable.

The Windows 10 Anniversary Update trashed my machine so I've had to do a full reinstall. I can't remember whether I had to re-licence or whether the licences were all still in place when I started to run SimSig again. I've also got Malwarebytes free on the machine and run a weekly scan. This has never caused me any licensing problems (before or since the reinstall) so there may another underlying problem rather than just Malwarebytes taking the huff.

So to clarify:-

1) Can you see the licenses in your license manager?

2) If you can see them, are they showing as allocated to another machine?

3) Did you ever run SimSig between reinstalling Windows 10 (and presumably reallocating your licenses) and running Malwarebytes?

4) Do you have the Malwarebytes log which will tell us if it did actually remove the licenses? (If I'm honest I find this unlikely as you're the first person who has claimed that Malwarebytes has removed licenses, you have 24 licenses and it removed 38 items, and all the SimSig licenses are stored in one file, not separately)

1) Yes

2) Yes

3) Yes I was playing the new timetable issued for York

4) Sorry no, because I did not expect it to do anything. As Postal uses it regularly & nothing has happened it must have been something else to be the cause, I assumed it was that as it was the last programme I had used prior to loosing the licenses ..... Will do another clean install of win 10 see how it goes
Thanks Everyone

No need to reinstall windows, all you need to do is go to license manager and for each license click "request license unlock" and sometime later (after it has been done) you will be able to reallocate to you machine again.

To do this it may take upto a couple of days (this is due to an administrator needing to do it manually), it is the only way to get you licenses showing as allocated to your machine you are currently on.

Reinstalling windows WILL NOT work in this instance!
