A colleague who uses 'SimSig' rang me last night to say that he is having difficulty running the early 1980's timetable that has been provided for the Exeter simulation. A little probing suggests that the problem is caused because the simulation uses the post-1985 layout for Exeter St. David's, whereas the early 1980's timetable was designed for the layout that existed before the 1985 resignalling. I don't know if it would be possible for the old layout to be provided on the simulation, but that would seem to be an essential; if an early 1980's timetable is to work successfully. Finally, as I haven't been here for a while, I notice that I have missed a few private messages. I apologise for not replying to those - if anyone has any questions regarding Exeter, be it in prototype or simulation form (including the 'Blockpost Software' simulation of Exeter West) I'm happy to receive messages to my private email address: peterjordan (at) manx (dot) net Peter Jordan Log in to reply |

To do an era before the panel was built would probably be easier as a complete new simulation I suspect as there were a lot of differences between the panel layout and what preceded it in a lot of the locations on the sim area. That's assuming anyone has enough data to replicate it properly. Log in to reply |

If your friend posts on here what difficulties he/she is having, we can take a look at what's going wrong. " said:" said:I have looked into doing a 78/79 timetable for the area. The main issue as I see it towards doing an older era TT is that at this time, there was still a passing loop, and please correct me if I'm wrong, a number of sidings still at Barnstaple, and of course not forgetting the branch which continued along to Torrington and Meeth (Nice bike ride now though, shame its not a railway).A colleague who uses 'SimSig' rang me last night to say that he is having difficulty running the early 1980's timetable that has been provided for the Exeter simulation.
