I've got 6X52 entering and reentering as non-ARS, and cannot be made ARS, and no idea why.

In real Life X coded trains are special trains and from what little I know are not ARS enabled, this is down to that X coded trains can usually be "out of guage". GNER's white roses used 1Xnn as it was of unusually long length.

I belive SimSig has been coded/programed to react in the same manner as real life X coded trains to add to realism.

X in a headcode means "out of gauge" in real life ARS won't handle X trains, and SimSig replicates this behaviour.

5N25 (Sunderland-Pelaw) will not move fully into the Up Goods Loop and sits fouling the main line. It stops at T5319 even though the signal is cleared.
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Similarly, 6H90 in the DGL fouls the down line when 0H90 joins the rear.

Or, abandon timetable, reverse the train. Once clear, reverse and reinstate the timetable.

Or just shunt the wagons forward while the loco is separate. I have sent a query to NR over this train because TRUST says it's too long for the loop (and loop length verified by Google Earth and scheme plans). I suspect the answer is something like "yes it does hang out when running around, and this* is how we deal with it". * being an answer I hope to receive.

Regarding nXnn trains, yes, ARS does not route them in real life because they are either out of gauge or otherwise need special handling. However, if you find a suitable train that has the same routing and similar timings (in terms of location to location running times, not clock times) then you can "run to special timing pattern" with that train's ID.

I figured the X had something to do with it, just not sure why 6X52 is an X, it seems normal otherwise, just to add interest I guess?

That's the headcode in the timetable - we didn't make it up! Hopefully somebody will know why it needs special handling.

6X52 sometimes includes car carriers from Portbury, and I've heard of car carriers using "X" headcodes elsewhere due to concerns about vandalism if the train were stopped in certain areas.

I've also been told that the roof bars on certain makes / models make them out of gauge for some areas.

I notice that the front page hasn't been updated and still shows York as the latest sim that's been released. I only found out through the forums. Would you perhaps want people to know about it? (if I offended anybody then I can only apologise, I didn't mean it like that)

In Version 1.0 the ARS was setting all trains as Non Stop.

This has now been corrected in the latest version (1.1) and ARS now interrogates the WTT and sets the route accordingly.

I have got an outstanding query with Geoff as to whether the lack of Auto Lower for Stopping trains is prototypical or an issue.
I've got Version 1.1 and every train be it a National Rail service or a Nexus service, the ARS pops up the message saying it's a non stop service, this can't be right surely? I might as well just leave the barriers down, lol!

Also does anyone know the length of North Road Goods Loop and Durham Up Passenger Loop please as this isn't in the wiki yet

Tried routing a metro into S1 at sunderland (Timetabled) and it said wrong route unsuitable traction.

These are designed for metros!

Map shows S2 is electrified but not S1.

In the TT editor, the location 'Boldon West Jn' has an incorrect spelling of 'Bolden'.

Also F452 signal (Norton branch) is incorrectly depicted as a repeater.

Question is a Class 142 cleared between Sunderland and South Hylton at all as I was under the impression that only Metro rolling stock was cleared - only reason I ask is because I just had 2N18 10:45 Hexham - Middlesbrough (NT 2/142) approaching Signal 6222 and the ARS stated the wrong route was chosen so the train went Non ARS.

The only issue with this being that I had ensured the route was set towards Seaham as the train was heading towards Middlesbrough and the correct platform at Sunderland was chosen so why would the ARS say this?

Before anyone comments, I am aware that the ARS as in real life is not 100% faultless!

Which version of the simulation are you using? Tested in 1.1 and cannot reproduce. 142s haven't been considered for clearance on that route according to the Sectional Appendix, and in any case non-Metro trains are generally prohibited from the branch.

also when chained with york the TT on york never changes from Darlington south junction. Maybe one for york not here....
