Train 2F53 arrives as platform 1 at Exeter St Davids from Paignton at 1915 and departs at 1923 for Exmouth. Before 2F53 has departed, 2B24 arrives at the same platform from Barnstaple at 1917 (and then becomes 2F55, which will only leave for Exmouth at 1950). Both trains are 46 meters long; the platform is 283 meters long, however the red occupied track circuit birth stretches well beyond the Red Cow level crossing, and blocks access to platform 3 for train 2C83 arriving from Cardiff at 1935. What should I do here?

What should I do here?2F53 should have stopped 'near end'. Assuming 2F53 has reversed direction, use the 'shunt forwards' command, and it should move. Shunt 2B24 forwards, and both should fit in the platform. Last edited: 10/10/2016 at 18:43 by ledgero2 Reason: grammar... Log in to reply |

Open F2, right-click 2F53 and select 'shunt forward', and it should move up to the Exeter Central end of the platform, allowing 2B24 to draw forward. The timetable for 2F53 should have had Near End stopping position selected at Exeter (so that it stops at the right end automatically), and I'm quite surprised that it didn't default to near end anyway. What timetable are you using? "Don't stress/ relax/ let life roll off your backs./ Except for death and paying taxes/ everything in life.../ is only for now." (Avenue Q) Log in to reply |

2F53 runs right through the platform to stop at the northern (Red Cow) end. When 2B24 is signaled in, 2B53 moves back to the southern end. 2F55 (ex-2B24) will not shunt forward while 2F53 is still in the station, but will do so after 2F53 has left. My timetable is Exeter Summer 2006 v4.0

My timetable is Exeter Summer 2006 v4.0You need to shunt 2F53 forwards first, so there's space for 2F55 to draw forwards. The act of signalling 2B24 in won't move 2F53- it'll move the train description from 437's berth to 160's, but it won't move the train itself. I must say, I don't remember this procedure being necessary at other dual platform occupations earlier in the day. Log in to reply |
