Prior to the closure of Larbert Junction the clearing points at the Carmuirs Triangle were quite restrictive. At Larbert Junction the line required to be clear to the Down Section Signal (LJ24) before accepting a Down train from Carmuirs East or West, which meant that once a Down train had been accepted from one of the Carmuirs Boxes one could not be accepted from the other until the first train had passed or come to a stand at the appropriate Home Signal. http://andrew426.fotopic.net/p55425978.html At Camuirs West a similar issue existed for Up trains. http://andrew426.fotopic.net/p55425983.html In fact the only one of the 3 boxes which could accept 2 trains at the same time from the other boxes was Carmuirs East which could accept Up trains from Larbert Junction and Carmuirs West simultaneously as the Up Branch Home (CE 3) provided a sufficient clearing point in rear of the junction. http://andrew426.fotopic.net/p55425999.html Log in to reply |

I should have added that there are some moves that are not incurring a Clearing Point Violation when they should. If CW15 (and LJ25) is Off and the points are set for the main then setting a route from CEJ15 to LJ14 should incur a violation. If LJ20 (and CW20) is Off and the points are set for the main then setting a route from CE15 to CW29 should incur a violation. If CEJ3 is Off then setting a route from LJ12 to CEJ9 should incur a violation. I suspect that with the introduction of TCB working and control from Larbert North that some of these restricitons may not exist now. These are not detracting from my enjoyment of a great simulation of an area that I used to know quite well. Log in to reply |

To be honest the CPs were complete guesses- but I can look to refine them with info like the above. Thanks Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |
