Cannot save simulation. Only way round this is to have snapshots at 30 minute intervals. Anyone have any ideas why the 'save' option isn't working? Terry Terry Log in to reply |

Can't think it is with the simulation as I can save without any issues. Maybe you don't have permission on your ID to save to that folder. Log in to reply |

What happens when you attempt to save the simulation? Are any error messages displayed?

No error message; when I get Euston in save file, nothing happens and the file stays on the screen doing nothing!

On other simulations, I do not enter a file name because it is already there and the file is saved. I think maybe I will have to download this simulation again because there are other things which are not quite as they should be.

Euston is fairly old and does not include this feature- you just need to enter a file name of your choice and click save. It's the same as saving something like a Word document. What else is 'not quite as it should be'? They might simply be quirks of Euston 'box, or due to the fact that Euston was produced earlier than other simulations. To be honest, I have no idea as to what I should type for the file name (I have never needed to do so before). The other problem is mentioned in another post I put up today concerning signal 146. There has been a reply about that (or a telling off!) but the answer did not resolve the problem for me.

Terry in post 91285 said:To be honest, I have no idea as to what I should type for the file name (I have never needed to do so before).Quite literally anything you want. Something that will allow you to load the correct game when you come to play next time. I just type the simulation time. The Loader defaults to "[Real life date]-[Real life time] sim time [simulation time]", use that if you want. Terry - you don't say which OS version you are using. I have Win 10, though I think this may also have applied with Win 7. SimSig wants to save to a folder in Program Files (x86), but is prevented from doing so by permissions. Generally programs cannot write to this folder, and its subfolders, without admin permissions. My system writes those game saves to a folder called <username> / Local / VirtualStore / Program Files (x86) / SimSig and is able to do so without requiring admin permission. I don't know whether this applies in your case, but it might. I only found this when I knew that I was saving, but couldn't see the saves appearing where I thought they should be appearing. Hope this helps, Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Terry |

I should add this is a "feature" added by Microsoft for security and the reason why sims, timetables and saves from the loader sims are stored in public documents! Log in to reply |
