Looking for some assistance here from anyone who uses GLQ. I have a diagram of the new layout (pointwork is basically the same as before - one minor change) and the loss of one signal. I can deal with that. But I don't have TCs (number of or lengths). Sectional appendix tells me the changes in usable platform length: some are longer, some shorter, which is confusing a bit. I am aware that some of the platforms were to be extended towards George Square - though I have heard that's still a future project. So questions - Is the buffer line where is was before? Is anyone able to work out the approximate TC lengths from observations? Or at least confirm the number per platform. Thanks Peter You can post here or PM me if you prefer. I've otherwise done all the EGIP changes and to CSCOT. I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

As far as I'm aware, the buffers are roughly the same as they were. The concourse was dug out to make space for the platform extensions during the block last summer, but filled back in temporarily with polystyrene blocks. Once the entrance area has been rebuilt, the gateline can be moved back, polystyrene removed and the platform lines extended.

Peter - are you aware of a signals diagram for GLQ on the scot-rail website? Note, not the website of Abellio ScotRail, the operator, but scot-rail, a site for Scotland's online rail community. This diagram gives the "now" situation, with current signal positions, and platform lengths, before removal of the polystyrene infill blocks, due for when the concourse works are complete in 2018. Let me know if you have difficulty finding it. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Peter Bennet |

Unfortunately, that does not show the TC breaks. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |
