Hi, I'm pretty new to SimSig (few weeks) but there is rearly a day When I'm running it :) I recently purchased the Horsham sim and thus have a couple of questions. Does the Engine Road get used? As a test I tried routing An empty into it but it said I need s slot, couldn't Work out how to request one. I'm thinking of trying to do a time table, say late 80's. What stock would have been used then? 421/423/455 ? Thanks for any assistance, Regards, Wayne Log in to reply |

" said:I think you've found a bug in the simulation. The route appears to be tied to the slot release at the Terminal Complex under signal 1405, but I suspect that it isn't supposed to be. I can confirm that no slot is required to get into the engine road and It is only long enough to take a single MPV at most.

I live local to Horsham. The 'engine road', as said above is only long enough for one MPV. In reality it is rarely used and when it is, its usually a tamper put there if there isnt enough room in the Network Rail 'Up TC'. As for the 1980s, from research Ive done, I think that your guesses are resonable, although I think the 455's were only on the Dorking line on the Horsham - Waterloo trips. 4-SUBS used to go to Dorking, dont know if they went all the way through to Horsham though (if they were still around by the late 80's?). Welcome Wayne I am doing a Winter 1982/83 timetable for various Southern sims, and the SUB units were pretty much on the way out with the 508 replacements on the South Western Division starting to come into use. So I would be inclined that by the very late 80's that the 455 have replaced both although some EPB's may still venture that far.
