Re-allocating Licences 21/03/2017 at 10:11 #93938

My main laptop ( with a working Simsig folder ) has just expired and I am now unable to gain access to any of my games, including Simsig. I am at present working on another laptop until I have funds to purchase a new desktop PC which will then become my main computer.

For the time being I would be pleased if Simsig could re-allocate the licences which I have purchased to this laptop which I am presently using.

If you require anything further please advise

Many thanks

David Russon

On your laptop you can go to license manager, and for each license request for it to be unlocked, and when a member of the admin team that can unlock them comes on site they can unlock them, and once done you can them Re-allocate them to your laptop

Mark,

Yes , I have seen that , but the caveat there is the wording that it can take up to 28 days to provide the un-locking and re-allocating. I do not really want to wait that long a time so I made the request on the forum board.I can go that original route if the Admin team so request.

That 28 days it a bit of an extreme, they are normally done rather quick.
Its like in most places that deal with requests they normally do things as quick as they can but posted on publicity material or infomation sections, that it can take longer.

The 28 days is just as a cover all, I think between the admin folk most are actioned within a few hours at most, and almost certainly within a day.

I try to do any I see each time I look on here, usually several times a day.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

The only way for us to action unlock requests is to go through the license manager.

There's four or five of us and like AndyG has said they're usually done pretty quickly.

You are more likely to get them done immediately by going though the license manager than posting here and hoping someone who can notices it. Also to do it manually would require admin to search through all the licenses for yours, whereas the reporting system automatically pulls them out into a table for authorisation.

As an aside , does anyone know why , under the Licence Manager sim list , I have duplicate sim entries for the following Sims :-
Central Scotland
Cowlairs
Edinburgh
Fenchurch St
North East Scotland

I can only allocate the licence to one of the entries , trying to allocate to the other entry results in a message advising that a licence is already allocated to this machine.

You appear to have two licenses for each of those, which are all dated when the data was transferred from the old server. So you have had them for a while, whether the old audit trail is available I don't know.
