New (interested) user.
Looking to SimSig as I am attracted to systems and how they function.
Would appreciate a recommendation for my first system to try.

Nigel
Welcome to SimSig.
Royston (donationware rather than payware) is a good one to learn the basics; after that you're spoilt for choice.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Welcome!

Get the system files first, at Download → Official Software → Download first! System files.

For Exeter, once you have the system files installed, run the SimSig Loader, click Check for Updates, and it will let you install Exeter from inside the updater.

For Bristol (I guess Bristol = BTM?), go to Download → Official Software → Simulations (Donationware) → Western.

Hi, from another new guy.

My nearest Train station is Fareham, making Portsmouth the nearest simulation to me.

Currently applying to work at Basingstoke ROC, and have a bit of interest in signalling.

I'm another newbie - in fact, just stumbled onto this site when trying to do some research on the signalling in Peterborough (UK).
I'm definitely not a robot, at least, I wasn't the last time I looked!

Interesting place, sadly not one I can help with much (even though my father was a modernisation inspector involved with the resignalling and commissioning of the present powerbox). If your interest extends back beyond the 1970s, a useful place to ask questions would be http://forum.signalbox.org/ where there are several people who have some knowledge of P'boro in mechanical days (and perhaps a number of diagrams as well).
