Before anyone asks why it has not been rereleased as refresh last night. It has been refreshed it's just I missed the deadline for passing over last night. Hopefully it will be uploaded sometime after Saturday.

It's in Geoff's in-tray along with Westbury and a tweaked Exeter.

After a month is it in order to ask for an update on these Sims.
If it is not in order consider my hand has been smacked!!

You are indeed a brave man Pete. The hell with "smacked" I suspect it may be more "chopped off".

Any news on when these refreshed Western sims will be available for download? ATM chaining the old versions to the new versions doesn't work. ie Swindid to Gloucester or Westbury to Bristol etc.

I checked with Geoff recently, he is awaiting Bristol and Gloucester updates I thnk it was. Then that should be the full set done and fully compatible- I have no knowledge of timescale (nor does Geoff).

Hello Peter
Is there any significance in the fact that Swindon A and B seems to have been withdrawn from downloads?
Thanks

Unless I am mistaken, Swindon was available on and hosted on the old website which no longer exists, and so Swindon and a number of the other GWR simulations became unavailable.

I think you are referring to the "Swindon" sim, whereas these posts refer to "Swindid", the combined Swindon-Didcot sim, including ARS. There were a number of bugs in it and if you read back through this thread you will see that an update was expected last November, but has not yet appeared.

Hi Peter
It's some 15 months since the last input on this subject. Would it be in order to ask for an update please?
Thanks

I have been working on this and the other two I have responsibility for in the past few weeks. The Generic ARS bug that has held up re-release of Edinburgh as well has now been reported resolved but as yet I've not had the code. Hopefully the three GWs will go on-test shortly and then we will have to see what happens.

McSims will have to wait a while longer though.

Looking forward to it Peter, may I ask a couple of questions, not asking when but more what will it affect?

1. My timetable I am writing for Exeter/Westbury/Bristol is timed for however long it takes to get from location x - location x in the sim rather than real times, would this maybe affect the timetable?

2. I think drexpressboy1983 (member/fiancee on here) said the entry location is changing at Chippenham to hopefully fix the Thingley Jn problem, would this affect my Melksham services to and from Swindon?

3. One more thing, is Bristol's Platform 1 and MS1 and MS2 lengths changing? I'm having to use 60m Class 220s just so it fits in Platform 1, rather than 85m I'd use. Plus the MS1 or MS2 siding won't hold a 30m 'Pacer' DMU, which does fit in reality but I have to shorten them in the sim just to make it fit.

Sorry Peter for the questions, just thought I'd check on it, looking forward to your hard work, need to put a donation in soon!

James.

I only have responsibility for Exeter, SwinDid and, by default Westbury from Daan, so can't tell you anything about Bristol (or Gloucester) save that I'm not aware of any plans to re-release either.

Although I can't swear to it, I don't think there is any material change to Exeter or SwinDid that will affect the timetable unless some minor ARS pathing codes, which should be easy to find through timetable analyse; and it's now a lot easier to fix those sorts of errors too.

Westbury has a few changes mainly at the SwinDid interface, I think it's just you need to delete the last few locations of an exiting train; again analyses will track them down. Couple of missing locations added.

The majority of changes are in underlying operation rather than user functionality.
