I am having trouble getting 6B42 out of Pengam Sidings. Incidentally notwithstanding the Wiki saying that Tidal will phone to ask permission to let a train out to Pengam sidings, they don't.

Anyway I can get the locomotive to R/R ok, but there isn't room to get inside the gpl signal. The loco will couple to the train if you tell it to pass the sig at danger in no 2 road. If you admit the outward train into no 1 road then 335 sig won't clear for the loco to rejoin the train.

Whatever you do, I can't get the train far enough east to get inside 614 or 612 signal, and hence a route towards Cardiff.

Tidal Sidings (Not Pengam) should phone for permission for a train to enter. I've fixed that for a future simulation update.

I've passed the timetable issues to the timetable department. #17482 applies.

Timetables modified (v1.1.2 which also includes a few extra freights)

6B42 will need to be signaled beyond No2 road for it to work, the run round will now be done via the mainline.

Will be available with the next sim update.

Simulation and timetable updates now available via check for updates. These include an update for Vale of Glamorgan to maintain compatibility with the Cardiff set, Valleys was unaffected.

Thanks for the modifications.

This is not a complaint, but does this mean I am the first and only person to actually run this sim and this timetable then? Ditto some corresponding glitches in the Cardiff Valleys ...

This is not a complaint, just a slightly startled query

By no means are you the first, I personally welcome the comments and reports made.

Cardiff/South Wales is a major project for Karl and the team, there were/are about 7 timetables for Cardiff that were all created over the same development period, you wouldn't like to see the size of my dropbox folders however, some of the Cardiff timetables are held back until the release of any other sims that will form into another chain like Newport (which was previewed at the Sheffield meet in March) and any events that may have occurred. So the SAT 21/11/2015 timetable will be released to go with Newport as there were engineering works that resulted in the Ebbw Vale services running to/from Newport as opposed to Cardiff.

As you can appreciate testing notes (scribbles in my case) can get misread (especially if I scribbled it) and skipped as in the case of 6B42, when testing we automatically adjusted the runround and fiddled about as opposed to amending the TT (my bad) or I may have been at work when the session it came up in was run, but at least its sorted now.

As for the Valleys please have a read through the threads and anything you do find or think is wrong please post them up and we will look into them.

Thanks for this.

I should have mentioned before that in trying to overcome the problem with 6B42, after the R/R and the engine had recoupled, I tried to "Reverse Direction" to get the whole train back inside the gpl signal. It just says "Manually reversing" and nothing changes; it still shows "Dn" as its direction. For ever. This is the same whether or not you tell it to abandon timetable.

You shouldn't experience any problems with the update version just pull B42 through the loop and everything will work out fine.
One tip though don't set 0B42 off till the class 2 has gone by.

Just so you know, the precise amount of time for a manual reversal depends on the train length, so for longer trains it can take a few (sim) minutes.

Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.
