7B31-A enters from Westfield, the loco runs round at Redford Junction, then the train goes into Thornton Yard. About 10 mins later, 7B31-B (the same train) then enters from Thornton Yard heading for Millerhill. Unlike trains that originate there, I didn't get a call from the yard advising me that the train was about to enter. Is this correct behaviour? If so, it probably should be mentioned in the manual. As far as the Sim is concerned it's a new train so why you don't get a call I don't know. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

Similar trains in TT1993 have just call in for me. All I can think of is that the route was set before it would have phoned in. Bill Log in to reply |

sloppyjag said:I've tried calling before setting route and after and always same result.Just to be clear are we talking about the same thing here- the original query related to the yard calling you not you calling the yard. The code simply tests the timetable for a due entry in (in this case) 60 seconds and if one is due trips the call. If for some reason it can't make the call because another train before it is still being dealt with then you may never get the call- it's not 100% stable code. I did loads of experiments ages ago and can't fully recall exactly what events might upset it save to say some core code amendments were made to compensate for delayed trains and inhibit calls for mutually exclusive trains and the like. Thanks for confirming that it's not as-designed. I've now found a slightly more serious problem - Thornton Yard is refusing to accept 6G72-A, although I'm entering the full six symbols in the box, and the code is correct (according to F2). I note that there's already a thread in Central Scotland about this issue. Log in to reply |

6G72-B didn't call in before leaving the yard, either. (I sent it in without permission). _I_ think they've gone down the pub.

The calls relating to trains entering and exiting yards are not linked in anyway. So delinking the ins and outs is there a consistent problem or is it just the odd train here and there and is everyone else having a problem with the same train(s)? I've only had the problems so far with the two trains mentioned above, but I've only done two runs so far. Other trains (probably about 8-10 total - I didn't keep count) have been OK - but I think these are the only two (that I've encountered, at least), where the -A goes into the yard and the -B leaves very shortly afterwards. Incidentally, there wasn't a problem with getting 7B31-A accepted; I called it in while the loco (0B31) was running around, so the headcode wasn't visible on the board, only on the F2 list. I have a saved game at the point when I tried to call in 6G72-A, and I can probably put together one where 7B31-B is about to leave, if that would help. Log in to reply |
