Hi everyone, I'm Richard and I'm 16 years old. I've been using these great sims for a while now, however its taken a while for me to get an account and start posting in this forum. As for my newbie question, what is "slotting" and how does it work. eg. on the Edinburgh sim, trains from Haymarket station to the depot need a "slot". What is this please, and how do I get this train into the depot? :: All the best Richard

The signaller asks the shunter for permission to send a train ninto the depot, this is done by pressing the green button to the left of the depot, marked SLOT. It will start to flash and once the shunter has given permission it wil turn a steady green. There is a similar arrangement for trains going into the depot at the other end.
