Well I exported the timetable to TXT (after analysing it), and I can't find any "*" in the file - the auto-insert locations just aren't there.

Ah, that would explain, done it now. Presumably though, they will return next time the timetable is analysed/extracted? What purpose do the *s serve? Log in to reply |

They're used to tell the ARS where to route trains. Simply --- P1 DMS at Waterloo followed by DMF --- DMF at Clapham Jn is valid in real life, but the ARS in SimSig won't know which of the Hundreds of routes between Waterloo P1 and Clapham Jn FL to use. So the sim automagically interpolates locations between the two to work out which route to use. The asterisks themselves denote that the location is auto-generated, as opposed to manually generated. It makes the Location Name in the TT window lower case, and stops the train being "scored" at those locations (scored as in no points lost for late/early etc) Log in to reply |

Hmm, personally I'm quite tempted to leave it as it is, rather than faffing around in TXT format deleting all the asterisks, only for them to reappear. ARS routeing on the whole works fine, it's just occasionally it messes up Waterloo > Clapham Junction DMF routing as I mentioned earlier in the thread by adding a random DMS for International Junction. No idea what causes it though. I've uploaded the final timetable (1.3), if anyone wants to have a go at fixing that then they're welcome to have a go, but seeing as it happens on other timetables as well I think it may be related to the sim. I've also uploaded the final version of the Reduced Rules timetable. Log in to reply |

Once you have deleted the * (and saved and converted back) the location becomes hard coded into the timetable rather that the auto coded that was giving you the trouble. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

I'm currently playing this timetable having finished the 1993 Edinburgh one and have a question regarding the former Eurostar platforms, are they all currently disused or is Platform 20 currently available for South West Trains to use?

Strictly speaking they are all unavailable for use. Platform 20 will be made available for SWT use some point in the near-ish future though.

I've heard that Waterloo can be demolished, so whether they go ahead with that one remains to be seen...........

For some reason the downloaded file is missing a file extension, if you add ".wtt" to the end of the file it works fine.

There is a problem with Validate Button: If you validate a train for example: 1A11: Locations when Validated Waterloo International Jn Vauxhall Queenstown Road Clapham Jn (Main) Earlsfield Wimbledon After validated, press OK, then save the TT. When you open the TT on the next time it'll be in that way: Waterloo Clapham Jn (Main) Wimbledon Anyone can try and see, i think it's not just me. Thiago. Log in to reply |

Here is another example of getting a complete timetable. Currently 1P25 in the timetable shows 3 entries. In F4 edit 1P25. Under Waterloo add International Junction pass 10/02 path DMF and then validate. Check the result. The validation adds all the necessary data to the timetable.
