I have noticed that the panels in the scrolly version of King's Cross on my computer and the paged version on the wiki do not match each other. Any reason for this? Does this make each of them incompatable in Multiplayer?

I believe the scrolly version also has some changes with regard to a connection to the CTRL/St Pancras - or is that just the latest NLL? The panel changes are likely there to give control to a more relevant panel - Holloway South makes sense to be split, as the Up Crossovers are relevant to Kings Cross, but the Down crossovers are more useful to the Finsbury signaller. I believe both the Up and Down crossovers were on the same panel in the paged versions. Log in to reply |

hornby0729, Whilst I do not know the reason for the difference, I can tell you that two different versions of the same simulations are most certainly not compatible and will therefore not work together in multiplayer if you tried to connect the two together. Hope this helps. Any views and / or opinions expressed by myself are from me personally and do not represent those of any company I either work for or am a consultant for. Log in to reply |

The pages version of SimSig was limited to how much track you could fit on one computer screen. So each view became a different workstation. On the scrolly version, this limit is not imposed. Now the workstations have been set up as they are in King's Cross signal box. There are 5 signallers in real life covering the areas (workstations) shown in SimSig Kings' Cross. In real life these are called "Panels" at KX, because of the type of control system in this signal box.

Except that of course KX also controls Biggleswade & fringes to Peterboro' between there & Sandy. This too, I believe, is left over from the paged sim, in which there simply wasn't space to include Biggleswade within the limit of 5 (?) screens; once B'wade had been included on P'boro' that was it (& I guess rebuilding both sims to amend that really isn't a priority until the rest of the country is complete ) Log in to reply |

Indeed, I've done a 1985 Royston TT to chain with KX, as the missing panel.
