A Weekend tt (Fri/Sat) in 1980.Please read notes concerning Tiverton station 9if station showing as Tiverton Parkway - click on platform for it to move to correct position. Read the tt as there are a few odd moves. This will be my last tt for Exeter as i'm now working on other sims - Have fun

Derbybest, Playing with your Weekend timetable and enjoying it tremendously. Congratulations on producing such a mammoth one for all to enjoy. Liked the 9Z77 trundling along at 1mph on the Exmouth Branch doing night engineering. I had one small problem with 8Z13 from Newton Abbot Engineers siding to Hackney Sidings which was running late but 8Z13A came on the board from Hackney Sidings on schedule and as a consequence took off before it should have done and also had both on the board at the same time. Perhaps a rule here that 8Z13A should not enter until 5 minutes after 8Z13 arrives would be in order. That is what I have done to my copy. Will stick with it and let you know how I get on Once again thanks for spending so much time for others to enjoy. Geoff Log in to reply |

Anyone know what the platform lengths are down at sunny Paignton.....I am running Derbybest's great Summer weekend in Devon timetable at the moment and up to 10:15. 1E37 is just about to come on the board from Goodrington CS. I say just about to because I have run past this point just a while ago and now gone back to 10:15. The problem with 1E37 is that it overhangs the points at Paignton south end and blocks the entrance into Paignton Platform 1 for 2B18. The consist at the moment is a Class 46 plus 10 and the total length is 260 metres. I tried through the timetable editor to reduce this to a Class 46 plus 8 once I realised I had a problem which reduced the lenght to 220 metres but I might have tried to do this to late. Any ideas or are the platform lengths shorter than was expected and I will need to create a shorter train. Geoff Log in to reply |

1V86/1E37 would be 1 BG - 1 Mk1 Catering and 8 Mk2 + 46 around the 220m mark

Paignton Platform lengths: Dn (P1) 251m/274yds Up (P2) 209m/229yds Note these are platform lengths, not necessarily the TC lengths. PS If train was shortened after arrival, would be facing up, so shortened at rear. A quick rev should then move the train to the down end, but 220m would be still too long for P2. I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. Log in to reply |

I'm not sure if this is the right thread, well I think it is but I find the following part from the opening post interesting: " said: This will be my last tt for Exeter as i'm now working on other sims This is because when looking at the information provided with this TT, it notes that: Quote: A sunny Saturday (we wish) in July. Lots of holiday trains here. This tt is taken from Section PC of the working timetable May 1980-May 1981.Please note that this is my first attempt at tt writing so please DON'T expect perfection. Also note some platform regulation will be needed at Exeter St Davids. Please feel free to comment on this my first attempt. So where have I missed something? Nil. As you can see in the tt description this was my FIRST attempt at tt writing and there would probably be a few errors. However after doing more tt's i am now more experienced at writing tt's so future timetables i write should be better.

Yes there were two things I was looking for - whether I had the right thread for that TT, and, if so then I was confused because it was written in the OP as your 'last' Exeter TT to that date. Anyway, thanks for responding to my query. Nil. Log in to reply |

I'm currently playing this TT, and it's about 2am on the first day. I let 7M86 out of Riverside Yard, and off it went towards Tiverton. About five minutes later I hit F2 and noticed that it was travelling at 90mph! I called up the train details via F4, and the train has a maximum speed of 90mph set in the options. I take it this is an oversight? Log in to reply |

Still playing through this for the first time. It is now ~37:40 and I'm not sure what to do with 2B846 since it has the exact same TT as 2B84 from Exeter St Davids (ESD) at 38:38 onwards (2B846 is due to arrive at ESD P3 at 37:48). I actually noticed this earlier (i.e. last month) when I was curiously browsing through the shuttle runs for the ESD-Exmouth services but I guess neglected to take it up then. I will also add that they run on the same stops and times till 44:11 when they become 2B80 and 5B84Z respectively. Are they supposed to attach at ESD before the 38:38 run and then, after running the ESD-Exmouth shuttle service together for over five hours, divide at ESD upon the arrival due 44:11? Nil. Light Engine 0O04, the 05:48 run round departure from Exter St Davids goes to the new yard and is then routed back through Platform 2 to attach again. Platform 2 is a bay platform and the engine consequently runs out of valid track. The routing should be via Platform 3 to the Exeter south rev and then attach again. I’ve got an issue with some ExSD/ExCentral trains too. 2B84 is sitting in ExSD 3, scheduled to arrive there at 0726 and leave at 0756 towards ExC 2. Meanwhile, 2B64 is at ExC 2, scheduled to arrive 0748 and leave 0749 towards ExSD 3. This would leave it in front of 2B84. On arriving, 2B64 turns into 2B84C, which doesn’t go anywhere until 0823.

Also, if things get sufficiently horribly screwed up, it’s possible for 0B10A to come out of Goodrington CS before 2B10 even arrives at Paington, never mind detaches 0B10 and sends it into Goodrington. Since think the idea is that 0B10A is just 0B10 turned around in the sidings, this is rather unrealistic. And 2B18 is scheduled to sit in ExSD 6 until 0934, while 2B65 is scheduled to enter at 0851, become 5B65A, and leave at 0920, passing through 2B18. Oh, I know, I saw errors were expected, and I wasn’t complaining; it’s a fun timetable anyway! I just consider it responsible user behaviour to report bugs so they can be fixed for everyone in a future release

Another to add to the list: 1B73 is scheduled to wait at Dawlish Warren from 3809 to 3819 while 1E70 passes it at 3913. 1B73 is too long for the platform and hangs back, fouling the up mainline and preventing 1E70 from passing.
