I have a touch screen PC and wondered if I can touch the screen to set routes rather use the mouse. I haven't actually tried it but just wondered if I could ?

I can't see why not as touching the screen is the same as left clicking but you wouldn't be able to right-click as such to cancel routes?

maybe it depends on whether you use a left finger or a right one?

I took one to the wakefield meet, it takes a little getting used to but it does work.

It was Mike, but that was just in the setup. You could have a number of things for right click including tapping wiping and stroking ! Its all making me sound a little weird now. Worst thing of all was going home and tapping normal screens thinking everything was touch screen !! Blessed are the true believers, for only they shall walk the Path, and they shall be welcomed unto the realm of the Ori and made as one with Them. Interesting, in that TRE chose a hold-for-a-second for a "pull" of NX buttons. Other gestures were considered but this was way before the likes of iWhatevers and suchlike. We even had to write our own drivers as the included touch screen software only supported a maximum of 2x2 screens and we needed 4x3. Luckily it was pretty simple RS232 serial.

I take it that was a Windows device? Is there any plans to release any simulations for Android Tablet PC's?

Phil TRE is the company that employs Geoff Mayo who is the owner of SimSig. The TRE software is a development of SimSig that is used as a training tool on the real railway. While I admire your ingenuity in trying to get the answer you want in your desire to have a working sim on Android, I regret that the answer will be the same as far as SimSig is concerned until such time as Geoff wishes to divert valuable sim development resource in order to cater to a niche market. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

I wouldn't say that Android was a niche market. It has more users than IOS.

" said:I take it that was a Windows device? Is there any plans to release any simulations for Android Tablet PC's?They were regular PC screens, albeit with touch. Things have moved on significantly since then (this was back in 2003 I think). No Android/iOS I'm afraid. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

Give it time at some point somebody will come up with a program which can emulate windows os on android. Mind you that could be a lengthy wait. Blessed are the true believers, for only they shall walk the Path, and they shall be welcomed unto the realm of the Ori and made as one with Them.
