I think it was UKTrainMan (appologies if it wasn't) who suggested a simulation of the Network West Midlands route from BVE, and that lead to suggestions of linking SimSig to BVE if it was possible. How about a sim of the Wales & Borders route for RailWorks, if permissions can be gotten from the author? It's an interesting route to drive, being based on real locations in that area of the country, might make an interesting route to signal? Also, as I think it has a mix of PSB controlled areas and AB areas, could make for an interesting MP game if the whole route was done? Any thoughts? Log in to reply |

Indeed it was me, but I was never suggesting that neither versions of BVE (BVE4 or OpenBVE) be linked up to SimSig. I did however make a passing comment that I could be driving in BVE4 whilst a mate was next to or near me signalling trains on the route and perhaps imagine he was actually signalling me/I was driving the train he was signalling. That'd be quite interesting to see as we could both see if I can keep up with the train being signalled, or perhaps vice versa. AFAIK, the NWM route is semi-fictional and at-least some stations on it are very similar to 'real' stations, such at Clifton Greenbridge station which is very similar to Barnt Green station. I wouldn't know about the Wales & Borders route as I don't know of it in great detail but I'd wonder if it'd perhaps be part covered by this simulation request?!! Any views and / or opinions expressed by myself are from me personally and do not represent those of any company I either work for or am a consultant for. Log in to reply |

You would be right that it would be part covered by that, but that area is only a small section of the route. Perhaps it could cover the lines"further north" on the route? The author of the route is a driver for ATW I believe, and is constructing the route based on the lines he drives but with a little imagination. Log in to reply |

And the diesel part behind Hobbs Cross is of course based on Stourbridge Junction to Birmingham Snow Hill. Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick. Log in to reply |
