Firstly apologies if this has been mentioned before but a search of the forum only seemed to bring up Stourbridge Junction in other contexts.

Now that we are close to having Saltley which from the looks of the map in the Wiki covers the Birmingham diesel lines out on the Warwick and Stratford lines is there a possibility of a mini sim covering the line from the Jewellery Quarter to Hagley which is covered by Stourbridge Junction box.

On it's own it is a very simple line but linked to Saltley could give the whole of the cross city diesel lines.

Cheers

David

Not to sure what you mean, the line from Jewellery Quarter to Stourbridge Junction is covered by Stourbridge Junction

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birmingham_to_Worcester_via_Kidderminster_Line

That is the section not covered by Saltley

Ipswich, Jewellry Quarter to Hagley is controlled by an NX panel in Stourbridge Junction Middle Signal Box.

It has three SSI interlockings.

Fringes are with Blakedown Signal Box between Blakedown and Hagley, and with the Snow Hill Workstation of the WMSC just north of Jewellery Quarter.

Surely this sim would get a bit tedious?

I'm a regular traveller from The Hawthorns to Worcester for uni, and with the usual half hourlies back and forth there wouldn't be much to do.
Yes, they're's occasional freight, but not a lot else.

However, though I would play it

I believe there is quiet a bit of freight on this route to avoid the Lickey itself. Otherwise just simulate the inlcine being shut and away you go!

It wasn't so much having it as a seperate sim but as an add on for Saltley. I don't fully understand the programming & coding aspect of the sim but if it could be added to the Stratford and South Bottom workstations on Saltley you have the ability to have a set of routes that can be used as diversions as well as the Worcester line services.

I can see the line from my house and there is the odd strange movement trundles along quite often avoiding having come via Kidderminster to avoid Lickey.

In response to Ipswich; just because an area is controlled by an IECC, that does not mean it can not be simulated on SimSig. It only means that Geoff can not contribute to those particular simulations.

Some points:
WMSC has been open several years and will have 19+ workstations in. Initially they are Westcad but could potentially be different for the later stages.

SJ is its own box, as Stephen said, and fringes to WMSC.

Saltley SimSig is the old layout, though many areas are the same in the new.

No reason why somebody can't do it, including myself.

Some of the sims, eg Sth Humberside, can be a little large for one player. Especially for anyone new to SimSig. There could be an advantage in some smaller, simpler Sims, for newcomers to gain confidence on.
Having said that, I don't know whether the Stourbridge junction proposal would fit that criteria, or not.
