Just had a call from Reading box asking if 6V56 can run early, however that train was already over an hour late?

If I tell them to hold the train, it enters the simulation immediately, however if I tell them to send the train, it takes a few minutes to appear.

Just been doing a bit of wrong line running to keep myself occupied during the 'small hours' of the sim and noticed what could be a bug...

I set a route from 950 on the down main to 938 and then from 938 to 2201 on the West Curve.

I expected 938 to clear as the train approached, however it remained red even after the train at halted. Cancelled the route and reset and it cleared fine however.

That was noted in testing but I could not reproduce.

Can't reproduce, data looks OK.

It's not just from the Down Main. I've queried the approach control timing for 938 with Peter who assures me that the data looks OK. However, as a general rule, 938 does not clear for the route to the relief until the approaching train (be it from the Down or Up Main) has been brought to a dead stand. If the approaching train has been sitting in Challow Loop, it sometimes manages to keep going, but only because it has not reached full line speed before the approach control kicks in.

Sorry I was looking at 950 which cleared OK, 930 is coded as 37sec approach, as are some of the others in the area [950 is coded as 1sec], hence the assumption that the original writer deliberately set it as such for a reason.

If it helps, the bug occurs as soon as you load the attached save game.

This really is an excellent Sim now you have sorted it out Peter. I have a couple of queries:
1) How do you deal with 0Txx (dropped off loco) at Didcot. F2 says it is waiting for authorisation, but there is no call from the loco and there is no Signalling option to do this.
2) If you allow a freight up to signal 2205 the overlap fouling Didcot N junction never drops out regardless of how long the train stands. Is that correct?

Anyway great Sim Peter. :cheer:

Can you tell me what the point that needs addressed is please.
For various reasons dealing with a save is not as easy as having a written explanation which may be easily dealt with; the .ssg being the fall-back.

Pass- someone else may know.

No: just tested and it seems Ok and there is noting obvious in the data that would hold it up.

Have got the route set from the signal in rear UKTM? That will give the symptoms you describe.

Might be as simple as that Stephen. I had the train pull up to the signal to clear points in rear, but it's a long one and therefore may not have cancelled the route from the previous signal. Thank you! :cheer:

Haven't run v2.227 yet, but in previous beta builds, loco does ring eventually allowing you grant authorisation - depending how long the parent train stands if you are waiting to get the road, the pilot sometimes rings before the parent train has moved. If you grant authorisation then the pilot will move back to the TC as soon as you set the road for it.

At which signal is it going this call from? As I'm wondering why it's doing it at all in the first place. I've probably looked into this before but I can't remember. If you can give me a for instance train maybe I can run it.

It stops between 6405 and 6407. It's the loco from 6O12-2 piloting from Didcot TC up. Once it is detached the train moves fwd. into the platform, leaving the TC in rear occupied by the loco, but the description is not on the TC and is non-ARS (pink).

I see, I was looking at the run-rounds. Just tested with the 07 something entry and it seemed to work OK in that I got the call albeit with the main train was still sitting there. The reason for the call is because the train is sat away from the signal with points in between.

The issue is that when the saved game is loaded, you immediately get a phone call from the Reading PSB saying

"I have 6V56 running early via Reading RL. It can be in your area at about 01:39 if I let it continue. Do you want me to hold it until its booked time of 00:03½?"

If you tell Reading to hold the train, it enters the sim immediately, if you tell Reading to send the train, it does not enter until 0139.

Clearly as the train is already very late, there is no reason why Reading needs to phone you for permission.

Ah right, yes that's a peculiar one which we've not yet bottomed out. It might be a clash between the entry phonecall core code module and the bespoke delay code I still have in that Sim.

Hi Peter, and all
Been playing the 15 october tt provided for us by noisynoel and i have found a bug with the reversing of 7B13-2 on the Down Main line for reversal into the Foster Yeoman Stone Terminal. I routed him onto the main line and then went off to route other trains and had forgotten about him but when i went back over to where he was, i found his tt had stepped up but he had rolled himself back to wait at the next red signal on the down line in the up dirrection (which is at Rushey Platt). I hadn't routed him from SN645 so i guess that either the stopping location was in the wrong place or there is a slight bug there. I have attached a save game of just after the incident for you to have a look at if it helps.
Thanks
Nathan

We had this trouble in multiplayer when Alan was hosting the other night.

It is not the sim that is at fault it is the Timetable.

Basically, the train has an arrival and departure time for Wootton Basset Junction, but SHOULD have a passing time for Wootton Basset Junction, and an arrival and departure time for "Wootton B Jn Sig S645 (Rev)".

When Alan modified the Timetable to show that it worked correctly.
