a good one would be either Warrington or Crow Nest Junction which is pretty busy if you like DMU's

No promises that this reply is 100% correct/accurate, but at least it is a reply.

As long as either junctions aren't in areas listed here and also as long as the data is obtainable then I cannot see why it cannot be done.

That said, I seem to recall having previously read that that list linked to is not exhaustive.

Hope this helps.

One extreme to another! Warrington would be a varied and interesting simulation (which has been suggested at least once before, I'm sure). Crow Nest Junction is a little 'box controlling just a simple double junction, TCB in two directions and AB in another - so not the most exciting!

Why is the lever frame still in Crows Nest Box? All the signals are colour light and have been for some time.

Why not? The lever frame works, and it costs money to put in a panel (either in the box, or a centralised one taking out numerous boxes).

To go for a bigger example, four Stockport and Edgeley Junction boxes are all colour light, but the frames are still in - and worked better than the system NR wanted to replace them with, apparently!

Indeed, much of the equipment on the ground will almost certainly be a direct replacement for the mechanical equivalent, even if the position changes slightly - so why go to the expense of putting in a panel when the existing lever frame and mechanical/electric locking works just fine? It's not just signals, of course - many locations retain mechanical points and shunt signals, particularly on little-used trailing crossovers, even when the remainder has been modernised. The points at Crow Nest, particularly the crossover, could well have been motorised much later than the installation of colour-light signalling.

Penzance is fully colour light multi-aspect signalling with TCB but retains the lever frame. As I said elsewhere: If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

Liverpool Lime Street is mini levers and is not planned to be replaced any time very soon

It is too expensive to replace them and there isnt any real reason to

Maidstone East is a hybrid box, the station area is worked from a Westinghouse Power L frame (mini levers) while the rest of Maidstone signaller's area is controlled from a NX panel
