Hi,
was just wondering why after a train moves from a terminal station it will start with say 2B07 but when it's left the platform it will suddenley change to xXxx,when you have quite a few trains moving around it is so easy to loose track of a train and this doesn't help.

Because the berth stepping has pulled a TD from an empty berth. That's probably indicative of an error in the coding, but it can be deliberate if say there is no berth stepping at the location, though generally that results in the TD stopping or being thrown away and no further stepping taking place.

Really depends on the Sim.

Im Presuming that this is Brighton that we are talking about. The way it is simulated with the TDs at Brighton is true to life and is how the real Workstations at Three Bridges Operate. You have to make sure that the TD is at the Preston Park end of Brighton Station, not the Buffer end.

If you are playing Brighton, for example if you got a train 5F34 at platform 8, do this:
Press keyboard "i" and enter "5F34" in "TD Interpose", then click the signal in front of platform 8. You will see another TD showing in front of the original one.
Then set the route, and you will see the TD stepping forward without changing into *X**.

You can simply cancel the TD that is left behind.

You should interpose at the front of the train, and not at the rear end of the train. That's all.
