5L10/1L10 is shown as HST 2+7 but the length is shown as 219m. Think it should be 184m (particularly as it is TT'd to P2 at Gloucester and 219m. hangs over into P1).

The Wikipedia pages for "British Rail Class 43 (HST)" and "British Rail Mark 3" put them at 17.79m and 23m respectively. Whilst I know that Wikipedia is something anyone can edit, I'd still use it if timetabling, so I believe the length should be 197m (17.79 x 2 = 35.58m + 161m = 196.58 = 197m (rounded up)).
Any views and / or opinions expressed by myself are from me personally and do not represent those of any company I either work for or am a consultant for.

I'll have to agree with Tim on that one, just cross checked his lengths with Traction Recognition.

Took a punt at 184m. On reflection 219 - 184 = 35 which is just a bit long for a Mk3!

However, 1L16 has just destroyed my original point anyway as that is shown as a 2+8, 219m. and still TT'd to P2.

5L28/1L28 is also shown as 2+7, 219m.

I agree with UKTrainman. Mk.3s are 22.73m long, but rounded off to nearest whole number makes them 23m. HST power cars rounded off to nearest whole number is 18m. Although Western Region sets had both 8 & 7 coach sets. So HST lengths are either 220m or 197m depending on how many vehicles are in the set.

2G09 arr Gloucester P4 10:29 to form 2G10, dep 11:13. 1M60 TT'd through P4 10:44 - 10:46. No empty platforms, so presume there should be a 5G09/5G10 shunt.

Oddity re train types. In the train types tab in the TT, 2/158 is shown as length 46m. max speed 90mph. The 2LXXs I have looked at are formed of 2/158 but the max speed on the Train Characteristics tab is 75mph.

Going back to an old query about HST lengths, HST 7 car is shown as 198m under the train types tab, the HST 2+7s in the TT show as 219m. Also HST 2+8 shows as 220m in the train types tab and 219m. on a train TT.

Looks like there is a mismatch between what is showing under the Train Types tab and what shows for an individual train.

Platform conflict at Gloucester: 2T50 P2 23:01 - 23:20 to form 5T50. 2G75 23:11H - 23:13H en route Cheltenham - Lydney. Can't put 2T50 to P1 as it then conflicts with 2G99 (23:16 - 23:50 to form 5G99). Presume either 2T50 or 2G75 needs to use P4.

Current times (2011) suggest that 2T50 (now 2E30) departs ECS before 2G75 arrives and 2G99 terminates in P4

Bristol Temple Meads 2E30 2 **Terminates** 2303
Cheltenham Spa 2G75 2 Cardiff Central 2312 2313
Worcester Shrub Hill 2G99 4 **Terminates** 2318

Freight Queries:

4V46 to run 50% of time / 4V47 to run 100% of time and rule to make them mutually exclusive. Neither entered (one or other should have entered)
4V56 to run 50% of time / 4V57 to run 100% of time and rule to make them mutually exclusive. Neither entered (one or other should have entered)

4V32 to run 51% of time / 4V33 to run 50% of time and rule to make them mutually exclusive. Neither entered (approx 25% chance)
6V06-1 to run 50% of time / 6V06-2 to run 50% of time and rule to make them mutually exclusive. Neither entered (25% chance)

4V32/4V33 and 6V06-1/6V06-2 are possible correct outcomes but may need checking in view of 4V46/4V47 and 4V56/4V57 oddities.

Finally should 6M37-1 and 6M37-2 be mutually exclusive?

For those without access to WTTs, headcodes and platforms (although the latter is a bit iffy) can be obtained by inputting journey details to our local North East and Cumbria Traveline site. Works for rail journeys nationally rather than just our local area and confirms the information Meld has kindly put up. Of course, it doesn't give access to ECS movements.

Thank you for the feedback gents. I will look it to them all. The one thing I can tell you is that the HST's 2+8 DO overhang the platform in reality.

for tonights WTT 2E30 arrived gloucester platform 4 at 2303
2G75 arrived gloucster PLATFORM 2 at 2312 - 2313 then continued on to cardiff
2G99 arrived gloucster platform 4 at 2318

the only other service this evening from platform 4 after the above was an arrival at 0043 and depart 0044 and that was 2G74 from Maesteg to Cheltenham Spa.
