The route is set in 2 stages. Forst set the route from the CS exit signal (417) to the exit button (Triange) by 454 signal. The train will then drop down to the old yard. The second move is from 423 signal (at the other end of the Old Yard) to 425, 427, 429 or 235 signal.

Hi. I have tried that routing to get 5B602 out of the CS and all seems to be OK. However when I try the same thing with 2B661 the Train List shows a status of 'Waiting for correct route to be set'

Couple of things to check.

1) 2B661 is a seed train which enters the sim over a goods line although it is a passenger train in real life. Did you allow it to be routed over a goods line when the pop-up queried the route?
2) Depending how far you have set the route, have you dropped the barriers and cleared the route over Horton Road LC?

Isn't there a bug with this train or this whole simulation with the sidings and seed trains?

No, there is no bug that I'm aware of.

Shedcode, I've just run the TT. If you set the route as decribed above, then the train will show'waiting correct route to be set', the train will then ring in after 30 seconds stating it's routed onto a goods line. Click 'accept route' as your reply and then after a few seconds it will start trundling along.

Hi Thank you for your efforts in trying to help me out. I seem to be making a right mess up trying to get trains out of the CS. I am incurring so many penalties getting the first three trains out of the CS I may have to give Gloucester a miss. Unless someone has written an 'idiots' guide to get you going that is? Regards

Why worry about the penalties? Until you have got your head round the panel and the local requirements, you can't be expected to run things without problems - and that is exactly like real life which is one of the aims of SimSig.

Rather than throwing the towel in, have you done the things that Noel and I suggested? If you have, can you report back with the exact details of what you did so that someone can replicate things and try and find out what is going wrong - and if you haven't have Noel and I wasted our time in trying to help you? You will always find help on this Forum, so give it another go and let us know what happens.

Ok I'll forget about the penalties until I have cracked how exiting from the CS works. I have tried the suggestions from Noel and yourself and appreciate the help given. I'll go through it again and write down exactly what I am doing, routings etc and get back to you. Regards Tim

As the CS is a goods line, every passenger train over it will incur a penalty. There's no way around this.

The work round for this problem is to alter the train type

All you need to do is go into the timetable editor and check the use freight line speeds box for the DMU type that forms 2B661 - it will quite happily go down the goods loop without a warning message

When this train also drives over mainline tracks, it might be late as it will drive at the freight linespeed. A workaround for this is, to let the train get another ID after leaving the freight tracks.

Conclusion: you need to edit the timetable to avoid a penalty.
