I have been playing Gloucester v2.201 with the 1989 V2.0 amended TT, and have been surprised to have 220m trains (eg a typical 8+2 HST formation) refusing to fit into P2 between G58 and G133 signals. If I run a train of this length in from the Horton Rd end, its rear when stopped remains foul of the crossover between the DM and UM, even when set to stop at the Far End Exact. Is this prototypical? My Quail atlas gives 12 20m coachlengths (each) for both P1 and P2 at Gloucester, which suggests P2 should be able to accommodate an 8+2 HST with comfort without it overhanging the signals. No it isn't. Having visited Gloucester I've seen a 2+8 HST berthed in 2 well clear of both signals. "Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Adrian the Rock |

By the looks of it, the sim has it measured from the west gantry to the signal at the east end which is indeed about 200m. But the west end signal is on the platform, not on the gantry, and makes the platform about 45m longer. Conveniently there is an HST sitting in the platform on Google Earth showing that it fits with nearly a carriage length to spare.
