I have some good examples of real life failures which happened to me if it would be useful...
Would sure be nice to hear about them so why not go ahead and post them up in this thread to 'whet our appetite' somewhat whilst this simulation is in development. Just a note though that failures in simulations are generally automatically generated based on options in the failures tab rather than specifically created. Then again...who knows maybe (and indeed hopefully) this simulation will have the Incident Control Panel... *evil laugh*

I would love this sim. I am an ex Platform Supervisor at BHM during the period of the layout shown. I have some good examples of real life failures which happened to me if it would be useful...

That's the place of the PSB, where the signallers sit when they are at work. Why this one has 3 dots? Maybe there are 3 signalmen at Birmingham PSB? But Trent sim has only one dot. I don't know.
Having been inside the box, I can confirm it is a 3 man panel, with one regulator. Therefore in this case, the dot's represent signallers. I can't speak for other sims, as I have only been in two PSBs and I don't remember much about the first one (Leicester).

Hope this is helpful.

Well there's always the old standby of various point's failures etc. My favourite occasion was one Friday during Crufts at the NEC (2006?) shortly after the 350s were introduced when one failed at Stechford on the 0706 BHM - BHI. This meant it was sitting there till Control got the other 350 Central Trains had at the time to come and assist, as at the time only two had been delivered and they have different couplers to everything else.
This meant everything for COV was going out via Soho Road, Aston and Stechford to avoid the Up Fast. This was fine until the other 350 arrived and coupled to the failure. Because they are 4 car units, the assisting unit stood foul of the junction at Stechford, so we had to send everything then via Stafford and up the Trent from there for Rugby and points south. That was a fun morning. Guess who was rest day work on platform 2/3 doing Higher Grade Duty as Supervisor that day?

Then of course, there was the time when a 220 came in on P10 and the engine in the 64 (?) car exploded, or the time when a rake from Tyseley never made it to the station beacuse the brakes caught fire on the way in, or the occasion when a 153 split from a 158 going over the points from Plat 7 to 8 in service, the list goes on...
