Hi all,

What is the difference between the 'Easy' and 'Standard' difficulty settings for Lime Street? I had a look at the wiki but it doesn't describe them.

Regards,

It used to be for the number of delays and failures, but I see that is now dealt with separately under Scale of Problems.

Its depends on the sim.

Easy mode itself works likes this....If train enters the sim, and you get a phone call (usually from a shunter), its ID appears in an appropriate berth. In standard mode, the phone call still happens but the ID does not appear and and requires the signaler to do it manually. This is more true to life but adds to the complexity for new users.

In older sims, scenarios were where easy mode was an option. The scenarios also included and easy scenario as well as bad weather, delays, and failures. However, some time ago, several of the devs got together and decided to change the way they dealt with the scenarios. South Humberside is a good example of how this affected the consequent sims.

Scenarios are now major issues such as line closures or platform closures. Weather, and delays and failure rates (otherwise known as scale of failures) are now separate options on their own. It means you can run a major scenario, as well as having delays, failures and bad weather in whatever combination you like.

This also means there is now an easy mode option which works as stated above.
