Has anyone else experienced long delay at Daw Mill? Two trains were routed in nearly 2 hours ago but the slot light is still showing and nothing has been sent by them either yet two trains were due at 1345 and 1350 and its now 1530 and still nothing arrives or can go in with consequent Water Orton and Park Lane Jcns chocker with stuff for the colliery and elsewhere. Checked the rules and they seem Ok so why is the slot light still on  . Logic problem or just 'one of them days'?

If a train is due out, you are not able to get in. Check F2. Barry Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Log in to reply |

Checked that of course and nothing waiting to come out, no telephone advice either and the slot light is still on after another 20 mins waiting :( I'm wondering whether in the heat of the moment (blind panic) I requested a slot but because of the amount of traffic was unable to get a path and then forgot about it. Trouble is....which train did I request a slot for? Unfortunately there is no record of telephone requests - another request for improvement! What I suggest is, assuming you have one or two trains waiting, call the shunter again and request one of the trains. If it has already been requeted then it will tell you so, if it is the other train that has been requested then it will also state that

Try calling the shunter and cancel the request, to cancel the slot to allow the trains to come from the siding.

Had 3 waiting and of course it was the 3rd one I'd asked for. Why would I ask for the 3rd in a queue? Because it had the longest delay but stupidly I couldn't have got it past the other two anyway (insert your own expletive here) :silly: The trials of playing in the wee small hours after a few wee drams :S Now to sort out this 'orrible mess.
