" said:AdditionYes please! (All/any of the above)! Without power, things get rather interesting after an hour or two! As I've already documented somewhere, I won't be able to bring the amount of cables that I have brought to the last couple of meets as our model railway club have an exhibition the following day (in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire if anyone's passing on the Sunday or 16-17 June weekend), and so the ones that I "borrow" from the layout will be needed to facilitate preparation and cleaning! See you in Newcastle. God bless, Daniel Wilson Log in to reply |

Power strips never go amiss (and it is probably better to have too many than not enough). There are plenty of sockets in the room (about a dozen IIRC) but they are all at one end so a couple of extension cables would also be handy. I'll be bringing 1 power strip plus a 5m single outlet extension. Depending on numbers we will probably need another 3 or 4 power strips and maybe another extension lead.

It is also helpful for those staying longer to have their equipment used over someone who has to leave early. Trying to extract cables in the middle of a chain is a bit difficult!

Gee I'd love to come. Newcastle is only 100 miles from my place and it only costs £1.60p return by train. The only problem is, the meeting is in Tyne and Wear, not New South Wales. Enjoy the meet. Barry Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Log in to reply |

What time would such a event start and finish? I'm actually heading to Scotland on that day but depends on the times, I might attend - I do need to be at Prestonpans for about 4pm though if I can Log in to reply |

" said:What time would such a event start and finish?Presume you are driving. On a summer Saturday (lots of caravans going North on the A1 which is single track for about half of the distance) you will probably need to allow 2 1/2 hours from Newcastle to Prestonpans so 13:30 away from Newcastle to meet your ideal arrival. Probably nearer 2 hours if you aren't heading North until early evening. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

I'm looking at the 1354 to Edinburgh then the 1543 to Prestonpans, means I get a chance to relax and put my feet up before I head out for dinner :) I can get the next train which is a hour later though but ideally the first train is preferred. I will pay on the day as I've booked my place Log in to reply |

I was waiting until today (payday) to pay the £8 meet fee but I can't get the link in the shop to work. Hopefully this is just one of the glitches from the site update which is still to be ironed out.

Hopefully this is just one of the glitches from the site update which is still to be ironed out.It looks like all the shop products are not responding - can't see anything obvious in the controls. Something must have gone wrong earlier after Geoff sorted out the Derby thing. Need to await Geoff's input. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! After careful consideration AndyB and myself have undertaken to drink Geoffs share of the Beer if he is unable to attend. I may add that this action was not taken lightly and only after a lot of consideration !!!! Log in to reply |

Just to check, if we registered to go to the visit on the website before it was updated, do we need to reregister? only cause i just looked at the page and theres hardly any registered for the meet now (with those who i remember being registered, not being registered now)

I should be arriving on the 12:38 arrival from Kings Cross, I'm meeting other friends for a coffee first plus I want a chance to get a decent breakfast as I'm travelling all day :) My worry is I'm happy to pay on the day HOWEVER I've already registered my interest in attending on the old site but this hasn't updated itself - that said I was under the impression that anyone wanting to attend had to re-register which is what I have done. I noted something which I thought was odd and would like to be reassured first, was I right in re-registering myself as attending but also this text: Please send the offline payment via our bank account . Information of our bank account is as follow : Tuan Pham Ngoc, Ngan Hang Ngoai Thuong Vietcombank, Account Number XXX045485467 If we don't receive your payment within 3 days, we will cancel the registration and you cannot attend to this event . Regards, Events management Team As I've said above I really don't want to be sending payments to what looks like a dodgy bank account no disrespect intended but would like to know if I can still pay on the day? Help please!!!! Log in to reply |
