Am doing a 'heritage' timetable when the ferries still went from New Holland Pier with connecting trains from Cleethorpes and shuttles to Barton. Obviously there has been some track layout changes but trying to fit the service into the present layout is becoming a bit of a nightmare chiefly because (not for the want of trying) I seem unable to get correct path validation in the Oxmarsh area. Can someone provide correct paths (if they exist) of Bulk Terminal to Barton on Humber via Oxmarsh using reversing sigs and vice versa Barton - Oxmarsh - Bulk Terminal Thks in advance Log in to reply |

I think this might be a bug- the route: Bulk Terminal>Oxmarsh LC>New Holland>Barton-on-Humber was accepted by the TT editor, however the train stopped on the Terminal side of the LC and reversed there. take a look at IMP (immingham pilot) in the 97 timetable as this runs from ulceby, then reverses to gain entrance to the bulk terminal

Will have to do a full run through or even amend the TT again! :woohoo: Quote: take a look at IMP (immingham pilot) in the 97 timetable as this runs from ulceby, then reverses to gain entrance to the bulk terminalYup, no problems with trains running to from Goxhill its just the reversing bit at the LC. Never mind these things are sent to try us - onward and upward Log in to reply |

The whole Barton branch caused no end of issues as my testers would no doubt confirm. The main problem is that there are two changes of direction on it: one at Ulceby and the other near Oxmarsh. By change of direction, the train is always traveling the same physical direction but the direction of the line either up or down, changes. I didn't spot it originally but fortunately, this was spotted by one of my testers. Adding the second change is where the problems started..... I don't know how many iterations we went through to get the Barton branch to work correctly and not have trains stop and reverse in all sorts of odd places. It would have been funny if it hadn't been so downright frustrating to get it right!!! I do know we have done some work on the Barton branch for the updated version. I was actually quite nervous of changing anything in case I mess up what already works!! Without looking, I cannot say specifically what was done but I think it may have been tidying up reversals at Oxmarsh so for the updated version should work without issue. I have not used the released version in a long time so I can't offer much help on getting it to work with the current release version so you'll have to rely on others on the forum who've got experience of doing the same thing. The original bug discussed here has been fixed, but there are other issues on the Barton branch still to be looked at.

Is there a revision release in the 'near' future? If so I'd delay making tt changes to suit existing release if there was a possibility that they might not work in the future. If not, I'll bang on with my existing tt and hope for the best.

As Chris has already said, a release is not likely in the 'near future' - there is still plenty of work going on regarding South Humberside.
