Firstly, did a search, nothing showed up. So, any takers for the Scarborough line? Strensall (fringes to York IECC) to Scarborough inclusive? Or Seamer as it now is. I admit there isn't much traffic, but could be a good basic sim, with potential for AB working between the different boxes/panels, and plenty of level crossings and the station working at Scarborough and Malton and of course the junction at Seamer. ive thought of this before, but it might prove slighlty too boring, but if you add seamers control up to filey, and a few of the boxes on the hull line, then maybe it would be quite interesting

my local area you could model Seamer box in the summer as there is a 4 days a week steam service and Seamer now control Scarbrough station and down the hull line as far as hunmanby where Bridlington takes over...

Have to have Strensall! Else I shall never get a local box unless I move  Plus Strensall has 5 CCTV crossings and atleast 2 AHBs  Gotta love a level crossing!

the trouble i see is a lack of servic variety, or freight etc, although i personally would like to see this done, i doubt too many people would be interested- agreed on a good training sim though

A simulation is a simulation. The same as a workstation is a workstation and a train is a train. I don't know the area of control that this would cover, but I'd assume it's be from the fringe with York IECC all the way to Scarborough. Ought to be interesting....it must be interesting if they run the odd charter to/from Scarborough now and then!

very true but then you would need to include falsgrave box, seamer east, seamer west, filey, hunmanby, malton, strensall and various gate boxes... however you would also have the filey butlins station and double track triangle in the area... could be extremely fun...... Log in to reply |

gradients, all TC lengths, interlocking charts, diagrams, oddities of each box, a full accurate WTT, etc?

im interested, but in a modern interpretation of the line. pre/post falsgrave makes no difference as the signalling is essentially the same

I'd love to see this as a sim if it ever got done. Although my interest is mainly because it is a relatively local line to me (my nearest line is Whitby to Middlesbrough), I think there could be good scope for operational interest as well. Particularly - as has already been suggested - if the line to Filey is included. Will Log in to reply |

Why not add the whole of the route down the coast to at least Driffield? You can the feature the routes at Bridlington and then the single line sections north of there.

Quite glad at the reception this has got. I think I would prefer a modern day version, but not sure how difficult an option would be to convert it to a heritage version? If the sim was extended to include Driffield, or even Beverley, that would probably be suitably interesting? And as said before, would (probably) prove a good training Sim. But a probable must for any timetable would be Scarborough Flyer/Scarborough Spa Express, and perhaps we should add a feature wishlist for Steam traction in the timetable editor?
