Can't find anything on the forum about this so not sure if it's been noticed.

Down stopping trains approaching Kiveton Park station, pass the level crossing at 60 mph, continue past the crossing at 60 mph for another 20 seconds before starting to decelerate for the station stop. This, by my rough calculations, would make the down platform some half a mile from the level crossing. Except that in actuality the crossing is right next to the platform ramps.

Trains departing from the up platform pass the crossing straight away so no issue there.

This is a very, very minor annoyance which barely spoils my enjoyment of a sim which is fast becoming one of my favourites. I only noticed this whilst watching the last stopper of the 24 hour timetable which I was following the progress of as there wasn't much going on elsewhere, so I would probably have been in blissful ignorance of the problem otherwise. Just wondered if it was known about.

Unfortunately I haven't really got the time right now to do some testing of this but I will say the following...

Don't forget in your calculating that the Track Circuit occupation would likely show up as soon as the circuit is completed by the train's wheels making contact with the rail head's of Track Circuit TKS5151, so whilst it may look like the train is crossing the Level Crossing, in actual fact it could have only just entered the track circuit and is still on the approach to the crossing.

A quick look at this image of the station from National Rail Enquiries' Stations Made Easy information for Kiveton Park and you cannot see Signal KS515 before the crossing.

Perhaps someone could test stopping a train at the aforementioned signal until it calls in then setting the route and lowering the crossing and observing 'the goings on' on F2? If so then thanks in advance.

Have had a look at what is going on and have amended what it should be doing, train was stopping at signal KS513 rather than just past the LC.

To be clear, the recorded time of 20 seconds is from the moment the crossing gates start to raise once it has passed the crossing. The train has passed track circuits TKS517 (the approach to the signal) and TKS5151 (the overlap where the crossing is located) and is exclusively occupying TKS5152 at this point and the distance from the crossing to the platform ramps is only a few feet. The train is unlikely to be occupying TKS5151 (the overlap) when the barriers are rising and must be in the immediate vicinity of the station yet is still travelling at 60 mph and continues to travel at that speed for a further 20 seconds a distance of 586 yards. I doubt Kiveton Park station's platforms are that long, the longest platform in the UK (Gloucester P1 and 2) being only 529 yards! Plus this is only when the train starts to slow down it takes another 30 or so seconds to come to a halt.
