By helping Millie you could be in with a chance of winning one of several rewards such as visiting West Hampstead signal box, or even working a shift at the same box! See this article for full details. Please bid or give generously to help someone in need in our railway family!

I assume you we were supposed to pay at the time of bidding?

The initial £2 will need to be paid immediately using the specific Millie Fundraising page. They will be able to increase their bid at any time until the closing date of the bidding. Jolly good of Ray to run this. I will donate but this depends on the money at my end, and if it will affect my stash ready for the London Meet. McBoo said: Is there an age restriction?I was going to ask the same question "Signalman Exeter" Log in to reply |

Will there be any visibility of the highest bid amounts before the auction closes or is it in effect a blind auction?

McBoo said:Is there an age restriction?I'm enquiring. I suspect 16+ will be okay; younger may require parent or guardian supervision. Andrew G said: Will there be any visibility of the highest bid amounts before the auction closes or is it in effect a blind auction? We decided that publishing the highest bids might put off those that would have otherwise bid, had they not seen higher bids. As the idea is to raise money, I hope people will understand. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

We've had more donations than bids so you're in with a good chance of winning something if you bid soon! Many thanks to those who have donated or bid so far. Remember, just £2 gets you in with a chance. (Still waiting for an answer on the age, but why not bid just £2 anyway?) SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

I have just made a payment via Paypal, every little helps :-). I am having a moment, does the donation of £x count as a bid for the visit to the 'box too? When in doubt - Contingency plan 2A. Sorry but it's going to be 18+ for the visits and for working the shifts. As most people have opted to simply donate and not enter the bidding process, there is still an excellent chance of winning something - there is less than a day and a half to get your bids in, so do it now! Every little helps, and remember how fortunate you are compared to this little girl who has been through a heck of a lot at such an early age. All it takes is less than the cost of a pint of beer. You know you can help. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

Geoff I intended for my donation to be a bid, but I'm not sure if I did it right?

If you've not sent me an email using the links on the product description page in the shop, and paid more than £2, then I've assumed you're donating only. I'll get a list tonight of order numbers without matching emails.

Here are the initial results: Order number 100 has won the shift work with a very generous bid of £312 Order numbers 103, 118, 109, and 107 have won box visits with equally generous bids ranging from £200 to £40. The following order numbers have been entered into the draw and allocated the following numbers to be "selected" by the UK Millionaire Draw: 104: 0 9 18 27 36 45 54 63 72 81 90 99 110: 1 10 19 28 37 46 55 64 73 82 91 98: 2 11 20 29 38 47 56 65 74 83 92 102: 3 12 21 30 39 48 57 66 75 84 93 105: 4 13 22 31 40 49 58 67 76 85 94 106: 5 14 23 32 41 50 59 68 77 86 95 111: 6 15 24 33 42 51 60 69 78 87 96 116: 7 16 25 34 43 52 61 70 79 88 97 117: 8 17 26 35 44 53 62 71 80 89 98 Remember that these are in highest bid order, followed by earliest date, which is why #104 gets an extra number. A few people didn't indicate whether they wanted to donate or to bid. If they paid £2 then they have been entered into the draw. If they paid more than £2 then they have been assumed to want to donate only. These were emailed with the email addresses they supplied for payment. Good luck! SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

As you may have already found out, the results are in! The number was BRY233761. Therefore it was nice and simple: #106 wins the shift work #110 and #116 win the other two box visits. Congratulations! Ray will be contacting you directly soon, as will I with requests for payment of your bid amount. A big thank you to everybody for all your help. Millie's mother was apparently in tears in hearing how much we've raised - which is slightly over £1000. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |
