Wrong routing at dawlish? 17/02/2012 at 12:44 #29626 | |

Earlier, I had a train in Exeter which had a slash in the departure time at Dawlish Warren, so I routed the train to run straight through the main, bypassing the platform, but then upon arriving at the signal before DW the driver called me up for an 'incorrect route set' so I had to unclear the signal and route the train via the platform. Strange since the train had '/' for DW (yes, there was no arrival time). Anyone possibly know why it had to be routed via the platform?

Was it definately a "xx/xx" rather than "xx:xx" in the departure time? Even with no arrival time, the latter will be booked to call, has caught me out a few times at Dawlish Warren. Log in to reply |

" said:Does it say DPL? if so then it is routed that way No it doesn't. No path information given. " said: Was it definately a "xx/xx" rather than "xx:xx" in the departure time? Yes, I specifically checked it right after the call. " said: Even with no arrival time, the latter will be booked to call, has caught me out a few times at Dawlish Warren. I know. Since I realised the ':' and '/' differences a few days ago I check that specifically at Totnes and DW when there's no arrival time before I set the route. Nil. " said:Which train and timetable? 48-hour Fri/Sat in Devon TT. From what I recall, I think it was 5B81 (around 24-25:00). Interestingly enough, I had two trains with that run number here. One continuing from runs the day before and one that just came in straight from 7-12 West Yard. Nil. Last edited: 17/02/2012 at 13:53 by Aurora Log in to reply |

" said:" said:Which train and timetable? Yes that's the cause, there are 2 off 5B81, 1 enters from West yard at 24:10, the other forms from 2B81 and departs from P6, also at 24:10...and you can guess, one stops at DW, the other doesn't. What's happening is the stopper one is the real one, but you can only see the TT of the other, non-stopper. One of the rules in real life as well as SimSig is that you shouldn't have duplicate TDs in-sim at the same time, for this very reason. I would hazard a guess that the W Yd to Newton Abbot one is ECS that should enter at 00:10 ie the Sat morning, whereas the second one is the next day's version 00:10Sun ie 24:10 in TT. It will be for the TT creator to clarify. I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. Seems the second 5B81 is an error and should be deleted. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Chris Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Aurora |
