I believe that the London Underground would be a great Map's. If it was all on one it would create a Fanstic Multi-Player map With brilliant Problem and team building skills

it would be a massive sim to do,

besides which individual lines have their own control rooms and boxes

esp if like today's episode of 'The Tube' loads of severe disruption

i think should start with the circle/district line

we could hv let's say 4 doing one line at one time

Waterloo & City line is already simulated. W&C is known as the Drain (also the name of the sim).

The Bakerloo line is part simulated on Wembley Suburban (for the part that runs on the same rails as the London Overground between Queens Park and Harrow and Wealdstone).

I'm not sure about one single multiplayer sim. It is rare that we have enough signallers available to cover that kind of scale of work.

Yes fair point on that But doing one line at a time would still make it interesting

There are already plenty of London Underground "map's", see http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/14091.aspx.
P.S: Maps are not possessive.

If you're referring to simulations, as already said Waterloo & City ('Drain'and Wembley Suburban (northern-end of the Bakerloo Line) are already sims. Also, part of North London Line ("NLL"covers the District Line around Richmond. B)

However, I seem to recall it previously covered in a previous thread, which shouldn't be too hard to find via search..., that London Underground Limited (LUL) and/or Transport for London (TfL) may not be so keen on such a thing.

Any views and / or opinions expressed by myself are from me personally and do not represent those of any company I either work for or am a consultant for.

I think that's trackernet your thinking of - Trakernet only shows where the trains are and actaully can't control the tracks or trains what so ever. However I think a LU map would be really good - maybe you could have the option to run some lines in auto and control others so it isn't overwhelming. But yes it would be amazing for multi-player.

I think the Victoria Line would be a good one, esepcially with its intensive service and ATO as well as the link to the Piccadilly Line, could be chainable. Below is part of a mock up which I have done of the Finsbury Park area:

The rectangular auto signals represent the headway posts. Blue aspects represent the 'lunar white' (now blue) aspect for manually driven trains to proceed at caution. 'TT' marked at the Finsbury Park platform 1 starter is short for Tripcock Tester to ensure that trains leaving the Victoria Line have tripcocks cut in.

Metropolitan Line would be an interesting one, sharing with the Chiltern Line, mixture of fast and stopping services, sharing Neasden with the Jubilee Line and also fitting in with the Hammersmith and Circle services between Baker Street and Aldgate.

The picture is just a mock-up of how a London Underground simulation would look like if one was made. It is not a real simulation.
